awd92gsx
Ouch!! Hope you get it running soon!! Are the roller rockers a good "bang for the buck" mod?
Guest Ground Rat
Ouch!! Hope you get it running soon!! Are the roller rockers a good "bang for the buck" mod? I would say yes, although they were already on the engine when I bought it. I'm looking for a stroker kit now.
Tim240z
Did you hydraulic that cylinder?
Guest Ground Rat
Yeah man, the car sat in the rain for a month when I went TDY. I thought it had been covered the whole time so I tried to start it when I got back. Bad idea.
Cruez
I hydrolocked a 396 in a '68 Camaro a few years ago,. The hood was cut for the two Holleys and the high rise intake to clear, but I didn't have a scoop yet...........It took only 1 thunderstorm. I think you would only make that mistake once in a lifetime. You learn the hard way.
ZHeadV8
I have never ever heard of "hydrolocked" in the Uk - are you telling me that if it rains the water gets into the bores ? If so how the f*** does it do that ??????? The only way I can see is either down the plug thread or through the fuel system ?
Guest rick458
A couple of valves will always be open, if water gets in the induction it will find the open cylinder, water doesnt compress much

DavyZ
Yep, no hood with a open element filter that draws through the top of the motor will let water in I'm sure. What a pity. Time for a 383! Good luck with the repairs. Davy
Pop N Wood
A stuck float with an electric fuel pump will do the same thing. Seen it done. Wierdly enough also with a 396 camaro
