Sparks280zt
240Hoke should know, he used to have an f3 and he had a 260 turbo. I just asked him, he said Nope
Michael
I don't think that we have enough modified Z vs. motorcycle threads. No, really! OK, how about this: 632 cubic inch BBC Z (figure ~700 hp), tubbed - vs. Hayabusa. Standing-start 1/4 mile. Who wins?
patzky1
Hmm. Sportbikes are pretty sleek. Contrast that with the Z, which is a brick as far as high-speed aerodynamics go. According to my calc's you have about a .104 hp/weight while he will have around .140...assuming you're 2500# and he's 700#. You would have to have a significantly better power/weight ratio than he (which you don't) to win a race like that from a roll. Now, get him to race with a passenger and your chances are much better ;> That said, I love my Z Cheers, Pat

Guest zfan
I doubt it! I ran my friends 2003 Yamaha R1 from a 10-15 mph roll up to 120mph. I have a 1971 240Z with a 383 sbc/700r4. Even with a pig 700r4 transmission I dyno'd 370 rwhp, 360 TQ. I stayed with him until 85-90 mph and by 120 he had me by 2 cars. Boy was that fun. Oh and I had a 170 lb. passenger. I believe bikes are in the .6 and up area, while even the Z is somewhere above .4 I think. The bike does have a much smaller frontal area, but it all depends on that compared to the cd. Anyway, as far as the race goes...nope. Won't happen. Bike is to fast. Do it anyway and show a vid. I would like to see.
Guest ON3GO
find a reg joe rider and you wont loose as bad as you think. most ppl cant ride bikes right, i know . i raced a F4i 600 CBR in my Z from a stop when it was running sorta okay at 16psi and i took him all the way to 115mph and stopped. he couldnt launch that thing for the life of him. NOW! find somebody that knows how to race a bike and your good as toast. add more power to your Z and your set. mike
