Jersey
Watching ESPN or ESPN2 yesterday around 2pm yesterday on a "lunch/meeting" and caught part of a (i think) Valvoline oil commercial and the guy had what looked like 2-240z's in his driveway, showing an under the hood shot of one while he was either checking the oil or filling it. One white, one orange. I was just glancing at the TV while trying to hold a decent conversation, basically why i don't know all the details. It looked like the Great Outdoor Games where on when the commercial aired - women log rolling, log running(?), quad racing... Just wondering if anyone else saw this or did that 3rd gimlet make me hallucinate the whole thing??? lol.
strotter
I think I know the one you're talking about - if it's the one I'm thinking of, it aired briefly last year, or maybe two years ago. Cool if they brought it back, they're nice-looking examples.
280Zone
It caught my eye when I saw the engine shot. Then they panned out and showed the two cars in the driveway. It was a Valvoline commercial, about some type of new oil for older cars.
Jersey
That was it 280Zone! Thanks, thought i was just imagining what i saw. That's exactly the part i caught it from also - under the hood then panning back showing both Z's.

RB26powered74zcar
Just got a reply from Valvoline. They're sending me a copy of the commecial on DVD. Pretty cool. Wonder if it could be uploaded to the vid section here @ HybridZ ??

CruxGNZ
Did Valvoline tell you who's cars they were? Would be neat to find out. Definetly upload that commercial to Hybrid Z when you get the DVD! !M!
Jersey
I will if i can get the file size down to a reasonable size and the mods want it. Funny, went back and forth with the guy for a while, sent him some of my videos and then i kinda told a white lie (said i used Valvoline) Then i told him i drag every now and then and since he's going through the trouble of hooking me up with the commecial, it may just constitute me advertising for Valvoline with a sticker on the rear window, said jokingly. He comes back with "send me some pics of your Z with the sticker attached and I'll see if i can get it on our website" LOL. I'd have to do a bunch of photoshop work to make it worthy. haha. He didn't mention who owned the Z's. Maybe someone here will recognize them once i post it.
280Zone
I think they tell his name at the beginning of the commercial I just never catch it.
Jersey
I received the DVD today from Valvoline. The guys name is Jon White and the plates on both 240's are from Texas. The DVD size is 29mb but i can probably reduce that size if the admins are interested in posting it here. Pretty neat to watch.
Jersey
After watching it a few times, the Orange 240 seems to be pretty stock except for mirrors and possibly wheels but, the White 240 is a convertable, roll bar, front airdam, side skirts, seats, headlight covers, colored matched bumpers... They dont show the motor on the White Z. They do on the Orange 240 and it looks mighty stock and both look to be in real nice shape.

cygnusx1
If we post it here a hybridZ I think we should get a discount from Valvoline for the free exposure!! LOL
