mull
Anyway, it looks you already have the subframe mounted in 19 and you're adding it in 20? Did it have to be redone? No, in the end of #19 the holes for the mounting pins hadn't been cut from the inside, nor pins welded in place, nor had the rear subframe been reinforced, not everything was properly welded in place either, etc. There you go

Sure thing, once the wheels, engine, electronigs, etc, etc, etc is in place... : ) Here's the latest: Got some spindles/5-lugs donated : ) Mounted on my spindles (less rust then the donors...) The hunt for trial wheels/rims begins... : ) For sale
ShinHed
You probably have the best re-engineered 240z in the world, and your not even finished yet! Bravo. Just to let you know, you're going to make many enemies and/or friends whenever you make you're fender flare selection. Choose wisely. garvice
you're going to make many enemies and/or friends Some of us may not like his choice but that wont make it any less impressive so we'll still respect him and his work. So I don't think there wll be any enemies on this board. P.S. I think I remember mull saying something about some custom metal flares, is that right mull? mull
You probably have the best re-engineered 240z in the world, and your not even finished yet! Bravo. Just to let you know, you're going to make many enemies and/or friends whenever you make you're fender flare selection. Choose wisely. I'll do my best, but it's hard to please everyone... P.S. I think I remember mull saying something about some custom metal flares, is that right mull? Yeah - now that I got the 5-lug setup in place I can start borrowing all my friends wheels to get an idea what fits, and how wide the flares will have to be before I place my order. The flares I have now are just prototypes.
mull
Here's a (loaner) 18" wheel that wanted to go for a test run on the new 5-lugs : ) Oh, and the original L24 engine (along with 5-speed tranny) is pretty much sold. Haven't gotten paid of shipped it yet, so I thought I'd check if it's just a plain old regular original L24. If anyone can make anything out of these numbers: What's the "retail" on a L24 with a 5 speed by the way? The odometer said about 60 000 miles when the engine was pulled/car torn apart - but who knows for sure. Judging from the rest of the car I'd say it's been to the moon and back... mull
Going offroad? Suspension isn't hooked up... This is what rust free fender lips look like. Promise. Torment. Would you believe it? The other side was rust free too! Close look. No rust as far as the eye can see. Worn out disc making me use manual shear for the last cuts. Yay. And presto, enough room to fit 20" or drop it another 2 inches, but that would mess the IRS geometry up. Hmm. Anyone know if there are drop spindles for Skyline/200sx/240sx/300zx? : ) Design and placement of the flares yet to be determined. Think I placed it a bit too high on this pic. I was tired
JustinOlson
Wow that looks great. Are those s14 or z32 5 lug hubs? Justin
mull
Wow that looks great. Are those s14 or z32 5 lug hubs? Justin Neither. Came off a Skyline R33 GTS-T.
mario_82_ZXT
Neither. Came off a Skyline R33 GTS-T. Is it bolt on? This would make for an easy 5 lug conversion... Mario
mull
Is it bolt on?This would make for an easy 5 lug conversion... Mario Yup. Bolts straight on. Don't take my word for it - but the 300zx (Z32), S13/S14, Skyline R32, R33 and R34 all use the same design and are interchangeable.
Wedge
Is it bolt on?This would make for an easy 5 lug conversion... Mario keep in mind he has the skyline IRS
Careless
i dunno mull.. i think the rear flares are an inch and a touch too big, and not really as circular as my eye wants me to believe they are. but I like flares though, so good stuff. I could see some way beefier tires under there, rather than larger wheels. I like wheels with some fat rubber on the back. Makes people behind you think twice about poppin' their lead foot for shits and giggles.
Careless
oh, and while the inner fender is separated, please put some rust bullet or POR15 on the inside of those quarters with a mini spray gun and a hose feed or something to get in easier just to coat as much as possible. Im sure none of use wanna see rust on that thing when it's done
mull
Any comments on these GTR wheels? They're 16x8, I think. Tires are 225/45. Not very wide but there's about 20 mm more room before the rim touches the lower arm and the flares will be slightly redesigned (a bit wider with a less flat design) so hopefully I'll get some 265 or 285 tires in there sooner or later...
