BillZ260
Heard that too Greame, hope it's just an exhaust leak, but it didn't sound like it
Graeme
was almost like the rockers needed adjustment, or a sticking lifter perhaps.
Mikelly
Yup, I heard a distinctive knocking as well... Hope it isn't serious. Mike
RedZ85
When i assembled the engine, i did the tighten until the push rod cant spin then tighten another half turn deal. I need to adjust them individually with some old valve covers or something. It just started doing it. Anyone got any ideas on an easy and clean way to do this? TTLT1383Z
the only way i know is to take off the valve cover, start the engine, then tighten each rocker until the clicking stops from it, then back it off a quarter turn, or if you have some old valve cover and cut a strip down the center and stick the wrench throught the strip. Psykovertible
i agree. get some cheap crap cover and cut them up. I have little spray deflectors for stamped rockers. bet you could get a cheap set from local tool place, they keep oil from splashing as you adjust
cygnusx1
My camcorder seems to amplify ticking, squeeking, and grinding noises. I wonder if it sounds worse because it's the camcorder. When I taped my L28ET idling, the injectors sounded like hammers, and the A/C idler pulley sounded like a skateboard.
