Trecani
Stumbled across this about a year ago. Not sure if you've seen it or not, nice piece of engineering. Simplistic, yet very, very sexy. http://domain516789.sites.fasthosts.com/gallery/mk1/
tfreer85
HOLY CRAP!! I've never seen one of those in my life, are they stateside? I really like that kinda looks crossed between a 510 and Skyline a little bit. Nice post, first time I've seen it. Tyson

BlackBeaut
Eeeek, Mk1 Escort!! The first two cars I have any distinct memories of owned by my parents. First was pooh brown, second was 'you don't need retinas' orange. I seem to remember the 1.3 engine was a bit pants! Interesting that this tweaked one has a Vauxhall (GM in the UK) engine in it - ooo controversy Cheers, Rob
Psykovertible
me likey. i love everything about it except the number of cylinders. would have creamed in my shorts if it had a little 289 or some other small cube sbf. that being said.... wicked looking setup with the manifolds
Sumo
I used to think those Escorts were P.O.S. because when my brother used to own one it caught on fire. Something about routing the fuel line above the ignition coil or something. But when i came to the States and saw the U.S. version of the Escort it made the European version look lightyears ahead. By the way US Ford Granada compared to the European version, same story.

Bluto
Wow.. coupla tidbits I noticed in there.. Was/ Is it setup for a parapalegic? looks like a hand throttle/brake unit on the steering column Rear brakes look like they are motorcycle units?? you can see floating rotors on the watts link pic.. Crazy stuff! Sam
240hoke
That whole car is gorgeous, I love all the attention to detail, beautiful. One thing that really really really bothers me about the car is hte wheel cutouts they jsut ruin it. If they actually fit the wheels then it would look stunning, does this not bother anybody else? It stick out lie ka sore htumb to me, especially the rear. Its like the flairs werent made for the car.
JMortensen
That's been a feature of car design for a LONG time Austin. Even our Z's have that to a much lesser degree. Look where the front wheel opening intersects the line on the side of a Z vs the rear. The rear wheel arch is lower. 510's are even more like the Ford in that respect. I'm sure someone could cut the flare out to match the front, but I don't mind that in the slightest. Guess I'm just used to seeing flared 510s.
