jeffer949 Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 stock pistons do have numbers on the tops of them the stock zxt pistons have p90 on the top of them if im not mistaken. i havent taken any of the other engines apart so im not sure. The second photo (down the axis of the wrist pin) shows the rough texture on the sides of the pistons that support the wrist pin. That's an obvious indicator of a cast part. Those are higher compression than L28Turbo (dished) I will be replacing mine for forged soon...I found a set of Ford forged pistons that work with 240z rods. The sides will be smooth with the micro grooves from machining; similar to the top. Even the insides will be machined and not have any rough texture to them.
