justin260z
I need to know all the different heads that have a square port for the exhaust. Search turned up nothing for me. Also, do any of the 280zx's come with a square port?
OlderThanMe
The E88 heads have square exhaust ports. The P90 has them too. The P79 has round ports but is otherwise like the P90.

260pos
Check this site, there is a lot of good info on the different heads. It gives the benefits and drawbacks of the different castings.
Guest Stony82ZX
I just thought Id let people know that my 82 with a P79 head has square ports which turned out to be a real nuissance when I tried to fit a Pacesetter header with round ports to it. I showed it to a Z specialist in my area who was a service tech for Datsun back in the day. He said it was just a design fluke and that P79s had both kinds of ports. justin260z
so is there a factory turbo exhaust manifold with square ports?
JMortensen
I don't think there is a factory turbo manifold WITHOUT square ports.

OlderThanMe
The Automatic Maxima I pulled my MN47 from had a square port exhaust manifold over the round port head...that's weird.
veritech-z
I had a thread full of blurry pictures going awhile ago detailing my mysterious round port N42...now that i've got a new camera maybe it's time to take some good ones and see if anybody has any new ideas. veritech-z
Alright, when I take some more pics, I'll post them to that old thread to avoid cluttering up this one. I'll try and get some 35mm shots with my Olympus since it has a macro lens, and I'll also try some with my D80 to see how it comes out. The lens on the D80 isn't really good with close up stuff, I still have to get a macro for that. I've got tomorrow off, so hopefully there'll be a lot of natural sunlight and I won't have to worry about screwing around with a flash or anything.
