zliminator
Someone told me once of something that works like the things that are similar to how you put together the unassembled furniture kits - its basically a cam with a slot for a standard screwdriver, and when you turn it, it locks into whatever you are attaching it to. Is there something like this used for like firberglass hoods and body parts so I don't have hood pins sticking up all over the place? JMortensen
Like a dzus fastener? Most people pin the hood, and use dzus fasteners to attach fenders and stuff like that. Google it and you'll find a bunch of suppliers.
Meghan
A set of either of these maybe? http://www.aerocatch.com/automotive-home.html http://www.skybolt.com/
DavyZ
A set of either of these maybe? http://www.aerocatch.com/automotive-home.html http://www.skybolt.com/ Yep, these were things advertised in Car Craft a while back and I thought they were great. I think they are available in a polished finish too. These are pretty darn cool IMO. Davy
Guest Mike
Here's what's on mine. Please forgive the appearance... they're somewhat old and worn. I like this style because the exposed piece is small... smaller than the diameter of a dime. Outside of hood-mounted piece... Underside of hood-mounted piece... Chassis-mounted piece receives the "T" from hood-mounted piece...

Guest Mike
DAN... They came with the car but I'm fairly sure these are available at some of the major parts retailers. In fact, I think I've seen them recently. When I get a few minutes, I'll search a couple of places.
Sumo
When i used to have a vending route i used to buy locks like those and adapt it to whatever machine i had. I think they are called cam locks http://www.eastloc.com/camlock3.htm but you have to figure out the part that holds the hood down. The locks itself are easy enough to modify and fit whatever you need.
Guest Mike
DAN... I did an eBay search and found a bunch of locks similar to mine. Most of these have big washers but you may not need to use those. Mine doesn't have them. Here are a couple of links.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Spectre-4261-Chrome-Locking-Hood-Pin-Kit_W0QQitemZ280066837425QQihZ018QQcategoryZ33646QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-Baja-Bug-Locking-Hood-Pin-Set_W0QQitemZ170066275557QQihZ007QQcategoryZ33648QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

Careless
these are by far the best locks ive seen http://www.vanlock.com/ they make locks in all types, from screw type, to cam, to t-bolt. I think i'm going to convert the locks on my doors to these ones. one, for bling. two because the centers are gold. three, becuase it's gonna keep evil spirits out. Thanks for the correction, everytime i went to my supplier i just said " i need one of these". The screw type lock is on of the best, most Coke machines have those type locks. When they tried to break in my Coke machines they tried to use a dent puller to yank out the lock it wouldn't budge.
