DRTY260Z
Do you you guys think I need stiches? I was happily helping out one of my friends replace his quarter window when my hand slipped and got cut with the broken glass. The gash is about an inch long and about 1/4 inch wide and deep, didn't bleed that much but boy it sure f**k'n hurts alot.
DavyZ
Yes. You risk a lumpy scar that may give you issues in the future (ask me how I know) if you don't get this treated very very soon. Stitches are a wound's best friend. It'll heal faster too... Davy
tfreer85
I agree with Davy, its not so much the bleeding but the scar tissue that'll be a problem. It'll look better and itch a lot less, not to mention quicker healing time and less chance of infection. I had something similar on my chest I didn't get sewn up, lets just say i'm now getting it removed cuase it itches like MOFO!! Tyson

gearheadstik
Yep or maybe glue...I'm a Paramedic and have bunches of scars that have given me trouble later from not getting stitches...the skin will not heal as thick and every time you bump your knuckles it will bust open again, which we gearheads often do...if you dont get fixed that is.. 73ZCAR
Looks like a good one for stitches. I do use super glue at work for the small ones though. I'm a Machinist and am constantly getting small cuts on my hands. Gotta disinfect and close 'em up otherwise they get infected. Mike. spotfitz
Lacquer thinner soaked rag and some masking tape always works for me. It chills while it disinfects.
dr_hunt
I'd let my dog lick it, it'll be fine. If you waited longer than 3 hours the skin next to the cut will be dead anyway and they won't be able to stitch it. Besides, it'll probably be the "I got away from the shark" story in the bar next week.
DRTY260Z
Thanks guys, I went to the doctor and they told me what Doc said "waited to long". They just gave me some neosporin and bandages and to keep it clean. Maybe next time time I'll go in sooner.
