Mikelly
OK Guys, I am searching for a brake rotor that is 5 bolt and is 10.75 diameter, and the hat depth is 2 inches.... I'm currently trying to use a 1984 Turbo 300ZX rotor (5 bolt) and it is atleast 1/2 inch to small with the 1.5 inch hat depth. The hat depth I can work around, but the diameter leaves a good 1/4 inch of pad overhang off the rotor... PLEASE, check your brake rotor diameters, and let me know what year diameter you have... 84-86 Turbo models are supposedly the same size based on the VB and MSA catalogs I have... Guest greimann
If you want to go with a custom setup, pick your hat and rotor separately from here: http://www.magnumforceracing.com/store4/wilwood_disc_brakes.htm
blueovalz
My '84 four lug had a 10.75" diameter rotor. What caliper are you making reference to when you say that the pad is place too far away from the axle centerline? When I put these rotors on the front, I had to actually reduce the size slightly to get them under the calipers I was using at that time (280ZX calipers). Mikelly
I'm using the wilwood two piston claiper and the JCR Caliper mount. These rotors are supposedly from a 1984 turbo 300ZX. They are 5 lug, but maybe I was sent something else by mistake... They are awefully small for a Turbo car, even for the rear... Mike
Guest scca
mike-- you never said front or rear before........ rear 300 Z31 are 11.1" OD AIR... i can measure some later today.. i thought i mailed you the OD for these before?
Mikelly
...Well I'm cunfused then because the units I got were supposed to be from an 84 300ZX Turbo and they are 10.25-10.29 inches OD... So what the HECK have I got??? I'm so confused.... Mike
blueovalz
SCCA is correct. I've got the '84 Z31 rear rotors on my 240SX and they are just over 11" in diameter. And when I bought these, I compared them to the same year turbo version and the only difference on these rear rotors is the bolt pattern only. Danno74Z
Mike, I did a little checking for you on the rotors and SCCA and Blueovalz are correct. Here are the actual dimensions for that rotor. 300ZX Turbo 1984-89 SOLID 290mm Dia. 47mm Ht. 10(9)mm thick 68mm center hole 5lug All in mm solid rotor 290mm = 11.4173" Dia. 47mm = 1.85" total width height Danno74Z
Mikelly
Thanks guys... I have no idea WHAT I have, but it is MUCH smaller... Oh well, I'll order some new rotors today... Mike
Modern Motorsports Ltd
Their's a couple variations. One is your present size and the other is 11.4" as our rear disk CNC setup is packaged with. I'm not sure what year/month break down is which...once I got the right one I just stuck with that PN . I've emphasized the difference before because buyers often think they can get rotors cheaply but they're typically the small diameter from 'cheap' castings. Just call up whomever is supplying you and have them measure them up. Brembo has a superior finish on those BTW. (let along potential metallurgy differences) good luck
Mikelly
Well the hope is that I'll get the right ones... Just ordered them from Victoria British for $60 for the pair. I asked what size they were and the sales person was KLU_less... Mike
johnc
Sounds like you have the 280ZX rear rotors.
Guest scca
mike are your rotors 5 lug and 10.25" if so i am willing to lay it on the line and bet that they are 240sx rotors.. 82-83 rotors are the same OD as 240sx (this is a secret!)they are the SAME item with different part # - Figure that one out!!! CLUE! so i assume you are using the rotors from way back like Jim had for his 5 lug conversion and those are the small ones to work with a maxima bracket. you need the rotors Rear from a 84 turbo or 85-6 300zx ... nothing special. i sell the brembos for $100 pr but there are others out there for less
260DET
If you go to the online catalogue here www.dba.com.au Nissan and other rotor measurements are available. In metric, but you imperial-ists can do the conversion, can't you
Mikelly
OK, so who wants my Brembo 240SX rotors???? The 240SX I have doesn't have a 5 bolt pattern.... I'll sell them cheap, brand new, no boxes, but I'll let them go for $60... Mike
Modern Motorsports Ltd
Mike, I thought they were 300ZX rotors? Bolt patterns don't really matter, just redrill to the 5 if that's what you can use them as. Otherwise ebay might be a fine spot unless a 240SX owner here needs them...
