Kevin.pk
Thanks New lug nuts. I had change my front studs out. Before I had 12x1.5 in the rear and 12x1.25 in the front. Used 1995 miata studs for the front to make it 12x1.5 all the way around. Edited January 23, 2013 by 280zcar
78zstyle
So I'm going to a V8 swap on a budget (not too tight as its a project) but I was considered a carbed 350 for simplicities sake and how clean they look (especially the way yours did). How was the performance of that particular engine? Ever do any racing or 0-60 runs? I'm not looking to be super fast but I would like a sub five second 0-60. Kevin.pk
Welp. I spun a couple bearings back in January..... the car sat for a while. Still gathering some parts, but this is the rotor and caliper mocked up.
Kevin.pk
Wilwood setup completely installed. Crappy pic, but shows new 1" Wilwood master cylinder and All stainless braided lines coming off the master and just the top of my proportioning valve along the firewall. Bulkhead "tee" connector through fender wheel to front left wheel. Also a pic of temporary location for Oil pressure gauge. Mechanical gauge, need to get a bulkhead connector route it back into the dash.

I love seeing the transformation of this car and the awesome work you do to it. Now if I could just save more money! Thanks, sorry for not answering before. I didn't do much with the old SBC in terms racing. I took it to the 1/8 mile one time and ran a 8.3 with a 2.1 60 ft. It had quite a bit left in it. Hopefully will be able to get a comparison pretty soon with the ls motor. Installed autometer speedometer in the stock gauge pod just like the tach that I already had. Kevin.pk
Haven't done much with the car other than drive it lately. Took it up to Oklahoma to visit a friend one weekend and it drove wonderfully. I've put 600 miles on the car since the speedo install. Picked up some wheels. Not exactly sure what I am going to do with them, but the price was right. 15x10 -29 enkei 92s The guy had these just sitting in storage for 17 years. One thing that was kind of neat is the valve stem caps even have Enkei on them. They were originally gold, but were painted over. I may just end up selling them, or throw something sticky on them. 78zstyle
If you do end up selling those, I would be very interested.
Samson
Loving those wheels! I am in the market for a new set... hmm!
Kevin.pk
Well, decided to stick with the wheels for a bit. Got tires mounted. 235/50/r15 Toyo Proxes r888 They are quite a bit shorter in overall diameter than my regular street tires. If I wanted to go any lower I would need to redo the back section of my exhaust. Need to track down some wheels for the front now.
ol doc gully
Oh man, great setup! How much room do you have to the spring coil with those rims/tires? I've been wondering if I can fit 235/50 R888s on stock fenders with a 15x9 and as much backspace as possible -- any thoughts?
Kevin.pk
That size may fit, the R888s run fairly wide. Wheel is maybe a little more than an inch from the strut tube Had some spare time and some scrap metal.... So.... Made a front strut brace. The mount still need some final trimming and welding but its mostly finished. Still debating on whether to tie it back to the firewall, but I realize that is what will provide the most strength. 78zstyle
Tying it into the firewall would require welding it though, right?
Kevin.pk
Tying it into the firewall would require welding it though, right? I would weld some tabs to tie it to the firewall. If it I do that, I'll probably wait until the eventual camber plate install and re-paint it all at once.
socorob
Were you able to cover those back pieces with a solid piece of material with the curvature of it? also what type of glue did you use and how is it holding up? I want to do some pieces in alcantara when I get to the interior. I started trying to cover the plastic panels in the hatch. The quarter window piece has a little bit of exposed plastic but it was a first attempt and the underlying plastic is black so its less noticeable. I still need to work on the other side. It is black suede but the sunlight kind of throws the color off. It is the same material I used on the piece in front of the dash. Here's another pic of the overhead plastic piece where the dome light mounts. Its covered with headliner material. You can see it a little bit in the picture above as well where it meets the quarter window piece. I'm contemplating covering it in the same suede material.
