Very cool!

Not the smallest, though.

This is the smallest that I know of at 1/16th scale...

I have a full set of blueprints for the Offy. One of these day's I'd like to get around to making some chips.

Braap and I have a slew of pictures from shows we've attended. If anyone is interested, I'll dig up some more.

Ahh… The miniature engines..

So Ron, are we going to again this year? It's still in Portland right?

Here are some more pics of those miniature engines… I have video in VHSc of the Rotary and Blown V-8 running…

BTW, they use automotive heater cores for radiators...

Possibly... its Spetember 22nd and 23rd, same location, Kliever Armory in Portland.

GEARS Website... http://216.197.127.227/index.html

Ok, We are going, right?

Anyone else interested in seeing these first hand and going to the show, (trust me, it is WAY friggin cool), let us know. We can meet for breakfast, go to the show, then head over to Rusch Motorsports for some bench racing, pit fire, and BBQ?…

Ok, Ron Tyler and myself stopped by the GEARS show today to see this years miniature engine show. As expected, some cool miniature engines were on display. All are scratch built and run on gasoline. We’ve posted on these shows before, here are some highlights of this years show. I’m sure Ron Tyler will post some of his pics as well..

1/6th scale SBC 327, EXACT replica, sounds GREAT!!!

Another scale EXACT replica SBC, (1/4 scale I think) my Z-32 key for scale reference at the bottom under the header collector…

One of the blown V-8’s on display. Cranking compression was quoted at 140 lbs with 9:1 Comp ratio, produces 10 bs of boost, runs on race fuel…

All brass overhead valve 4 cylinder..

V-16!! Idle quality was glass smooth.. Running in this photo…

Misc parts, cranks, cams, Roots blower-rotors,etc. Z-32 key for scale..

Crankshaft for a scale “Miller Straight 8”……

Gattling gun, fires .22 cal Rim fire. There were 3 or 4 of these this year! COOL…

scratch built 2:1 reduction gear sets for cam/dizzy drives…

An exercise in engineering and machining gears, and they mesh perfectly!

I wonder why there isnt big forums and stuff with these people posting.

I suspect its because they're too busy working

As Braap mentioned we 'crashed' the GEARS show. I had obligated myself to a head gasket replacement so wasn't able to spend much time there. I think we were there total 1 1/4 hr... could've spent ALL day there.

Anyhow, a couple more pictures for the archives....

Jim Moyer's stunning 1/16th scale Chev. V8....

so, I'm sure you guy's have already seen the video of the ferrari 1/3 (or 1/4?) scale 100% replica haha

There's a video on youtube (a couple actually) of someone who decided to build an RC Monstertruck using a miniature v-8

there's also a RC Cobra with a mini v-8 in it

LEGO's of all things, can be turned into fully functioning engines. one guy built an L-4 that revs up to 1200 rpm (on compressed air of course)
