JustinOlson
LS2 aluminum blocks with stock sleeves are good for around 1000whp. They are much stronger then the ls1 blocks with stock sleeves. Beyond that you need to sleeve them, or go with a cast iron truck block which would be good to around 1400-1500whp. Beyond that there is the new LSX block which is reportedly good for 2000hp. JustinOlson
Here's a great place to get all of the new components if you just want to piece something together instead of buying some unknown unit off of ebay. http://www.sdparts.com/ You can get an LS2 block for $999: http://www.sdparts.com/product/12568950/LS2400quotBoreAluminumCorvette60LBareBlockGenIV.aspx You can easily build a 402 CI unit from this, or buy a complete ls2 shortblock setup for low compression. http://www.sdparts.com/product/SDLS2402D/402LS2ShortBlockAssemblywDishPistons14cc.aspx Regards, Justin

You wouldn't have to worry about your Z twisting in half .
JustinOlson
The problem with the new LSX block is it weighs 225lbs. A solid 125lbs more weight then the aluminum ls2 block. Being completely real, who needs more then 1000hp in one of these cars?

I have 9K miles on mine and I'm on my 3rd set of rear tires. Or at least find some noisy tires - the Dunlops I have are too quiet. I was apparently smoking them almost always without really realizing it. A co-worker was commenting on my "burn-out" out of a parking lot - what burnout, I had no idea - except that my tires don't last for shibby. You might just consider putting the motor in and running it NA for a little while...

I would think his L28 T is making as much or more than an n/a LS6
240hoke
Yup my l28 already had more power then a stock LS6. And I agree with clifton you gotta get some wider sticky tires. I could smoke my 245 Hankook's all day long but when I put my MT's on there mmmm mmm traction. Im prolly going to end up getting a different set of wheels too so I can run a wider street R compound tire. I dont like the flex from DR's over 120 or so and the car just wobbles around all over the place and nobody makes wide street tires for 16" wheels. V8 and turbo mmmmmm mmmm I cant wait...
