rwwisnesky
I am in the process of mounting the computer for the LS_1 into my 1978 280Z. Any advise would be appreciated. Does not look like there are many good choices. rwwisnesky@yahoo.com

Does not look like there are many good choices. rwwisnesky@yahoo.com There are several choices people here have used. You can move the battery to the rear of the car and put the computer where the battery normally is. On my LT1 I mounted it inside on the firewall right behind the glove box. One other proson here actually mounted in the the crowl after removing all the air ducts.
SSflyer
I put mine in the passenger footwell. Get one of the plastic mounting brackets from a Camaro or a Firebird, face it so the connectors are on the top, and it fits right in. qwik240z
I had my Harness made extra long and mounted mine under the passenger seat. The OBDII port is mounted there too. I have seen where someone has used a small motorcycle sized Optima battery and then mounted the ECU to the firewall between the battery and the firewall. This cut down on weight and allowed him to use the stock wiring harness without having to lengthen it.
iflyfast1
I mounted mine on the firewall on the passenger side. Only problem I can see with that location is it's kind of a pain to get to if I ever need to.
m1noel
Mine is just forward of the driver side shock tower, where the coil used to be. The GTO is pretty much in the same place. MIke
rwwisnesky
Thanks for the input. I think I will mount on the passenger side in front of the strut tower where the canister use to be. I will use the three bolts still in place.
