Mudge
Those sound like front wheel drive wheels to me, which means $240 spacers. Are they import wheels? Because if they are, that means, spacers.
Mike C
16x7 requires a 4 1/2" backspacking on a Z with stock springs. Check out some of the posts in the last day or two on Centerline wheels and "Will 17x8 fit my car?"
DatsunBoy77
Actually they were Cragar's (misspelled). Maybe i will see if they have them in that style with a different backspacing. Hmmm, i will see what i can find with a 4.4" bs.
DatsunBoy77
I was just wondering how much backspacing was too much or too little. The rim i was looking at 5.35". Is that too far? Also will a +38mm offset be too much? Will wheel spacers be needed? I know i will hear "search" and i did a quick one that turned up to answer a couple of my other questions. This is for a stock suspensioned '77 280z.
Z_Dust
More than likely you will need a spacer for those wheels to fit. Go for it if you don't mind the spacers. some people just don't like them in their cars. me personally don't mind spacers at all unless it was a race car, which mine isn't. Spacers will allow you to choose from a much larger variety of brands and designs. So far I have not heard any major or valid complaints about them. z ya
You can also run a 16x7 with 4" bs. Brings the wheel real close to the edge and depending on how wide of tires you may have to roll the fender lips.
