firm
I'm sorry, but this has to be one of the coolest things that I've ever seen in my life. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12234&showall=1 This was posted on another forum that I'm a member of and thought I would share it here since a search turned up nothing. bschiltz
That's freakin' awesome. I wonder what the total cost was, though
firm
That's what I was trying to think of.. Some people there were saying around $250k, but it seems like everything all together would be a "bit" more than that.
SteelToad
Thats not a garage ... it's a church ... Amen Dear Santa, Please disregard the previous letter ...
m4xwellmurd3r
Haha, he won't have to get noise complaints with it being underground either. All that natural insulation ^__^

jerryb
OKAY...a garage with a basement. BIG DEAL! Its rather nice but I dont get all the excitment. How do you get the engine and tranny down there for a rebuild? Unless you plan on living out there......? Now if it had PhantomPark......! m4xwellmurd3r
he wanted to add another floor to his house, but the city wouldn't let him. He wanted this new floor for a theater, office, and bathroom. Instead of that, he dug DOWN and built a garage on top. there's a path to get underground from the garage, and from the house. The garage isn't underground, his theater, office, and extra bathroom are. But the garage is HUGE and wicked nice from the looks of it. firm
On top of that he plans on using a bookshelf (think 007 style movies) to hide the door that leads from the main house to the underground bunker part. I would love to just be able to do that. "Hey, you want to watch a movie?" *pulls 3rd book from the left on 2nd shelf and reveals a secret passageway*
jerryb
LOL...so much for keeping this a secret from the city.....!
Six_Shooter
I will have to remember this when the GF won't let me add more space to the garage, because it will take up yard space..... Oh yeah? Try this. I think I would want to use it for more garage or workshop space over living quarters. Great idea and excution though.
