mossy74
I've bought a cusco front strut bar for my 240z but it doesn't fit it seems like the towers are too close together, did anyone else have this problem?
Bartman
How far off is it? Have you tried lifting the car in the center of the crossmember and seeing if it fits better that way? I didn't have any problems installing mine.
het976
Mine fit OK on the studs, but I had to notch the raised area around the access hole for the nut on top of the strut. The clearance hole in the bar seemed to be off by 1/4" or so. I installed it with the car on the ground, so maybe jacking it up would have helped some, since the issue was on the inside on both sides. mossy74
Jacking the car up didn't help, from what I've heard factory tolerances weren't that good, I think I'll leave it for now and concetrate on stripping the car down for repairs and respray. myplasticegg
What about removing the anti-sway bar and lifting it up? I would think the anti-sway bar would make a difference... They are putting force on the A arms and those are directly connected to the strut towers. just a thought. On the other hand, if it is that bad out of whack, you might want to get it checked out? Zardilla
I have one on my 72 240z with no fitment problems. Maybe some frame issues?
JMortensen
Port-a-powr would probably take care of this if you had access to one and it's not too far off. Other alternatives are modify the holes or make new plates that go on the strut towers.
