jtl260z
FWIW, if I were to make one, I'd probably use aluminum. Could be expensive though... probably not the cheapest solution. Aluminum would be the way to go. It's light, strong and not too expensive. I would go with either .063 or .08 thick 5052. http://www.onlinemetals.com/alloycat.cfm?alloy=5052

gdv350ss
Challenger (and others) I suggest looking at "Sintra" board. (There are also many generic equivalents) We use it in our shop regularly. It has roughly the same stiffness as a piece of 1/4” plywood. The price for a 4’ x 8’ x 6mm is about $125. It is a light-weight strong plastic sheet material. It’s primarily used in the sign making industry and has excellent outdoor properties. It is easy to work with, cuts with standard wood working tools, can be glued together with PVC cement and is paintable. It can also be thermo-formed. Here are a few links I found with some more information. http://www.alcancompositesusa.com/prod_sintra.html http://www.solarbotics.net/starting/200207_sintra/200207_sintra.html http://store.foamboardsource.com/sintra-pvc-foam--sintra-pvc-board--sintra-pvc-6mm.html Might be what the doctor ordered? surfer.tech
Has anyone seen this one. That's the WoodVillage S30 from Japan. There are videos of the car on youtube Another idea is a custom front lip. APR will make a custom carbon lip if you trace it out on cardboard and send it to them. My friend has a carbon lip on his S30 (similar to the APR) and it looks great.

LanceVance
Bump from the dead! This was one of the only posts mentioning Tegris, so I figured it was a good enough place to show off my latest acquisition! Fresh out if the wrapping, my new Tigris splitter: A little wide, nothing that can't be solved with a few cuts: Picked it up for $15 plus shipping, from racingmetal.com. I had to contact them via email, as they don't have them listed on their site.
