jasper
While we're putting together my son's car, and swapping parts between cars, now is the time to put the poly kit in. Does anyone prefer one brand over another? Correct fit is most important, price is secondary. Thanks

Armand
Energy suspension is pretty much the industry standard. The only other company that I know of that sells polyurethane bushings is MSA, and it's overpriced. Everyone on this board pretty much uses energy suspension. rickl750
I searched and found energy suspensions had the best price and got free shipping. http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/categories.asp?cat=1328
TrumpetRhapsody
That's the best price I've seen. I think I may go ahead and snap that up... Read up on the TC rod polyurethane bushing concerns though.
drdiabetezx66x
looks like the previous owner of mine already put the poly bushings in! nice!
strotter
Note that there has been some concern over the years about rack movement with the bushings in the Energy Suspension (and possibly other) kits. Check this thread and others.
PhilbertZ
How do you know if your 22, 23 or 24mm for the bushings on the control arms for a 280ZX? It offered me all 3 options when i checked out the site...
PhilbertZ
I meant "sway bars" not "control arms"....sorry
Savage42
I'm pretty sure this is still the case, but the black poly bushings are graphite impregnated and wear better than the colored versions. I went black this go around and the red ones I took out looked pretty worn after only 20k miles or so on them. Just my 2 cents.
TrumpetRhapsody
Where do you get the graphite ones? On energy suspension's site they ask what color you want, but "black" is "accept special order", whatever that means.
Savage42
Black is the graphite version and only comes that way, as far as I know or have seen.
TrumpetRhapsody
I think I'll give them a call when i get around to ordering just to make sure. It seems like they'd call it more than just a color if it was an actual manufacturing difference, especially one of that significance. Thanks for the heads up savage! EvilC
Note that there has been some concern over the years about rack movement with the bushings in the Energy Suspension (and possibly other) kits. Check this thread and others. I think, this may be the reason my steering wheel shakes at over 60mph. I will confirm once I change tires and add sway bar. Thanks for that post!
