zeeboost
It came in one of my Zs already and I'm trying to figure out what exactly it is. I assumed it was a C3 rear end setup, but I've never seen one in person and the pictures I've seen online didn't match up. Thanks
RB26powered74zcar
Do you have any shots of the axles, on both ends, where they bolt up the the companion flange, and diff? Thats very interesting..
Savage42
My guess is that it might be from a Supra? Is it an LSD? It's been a decade since I've looked at one closely, but we were looking to see if they could be adapted to a 510 at the time. Hmm.

zeeboost
Oooh, good point - maybe the other ones I saw were C4 or late C3 rear ends. This one has a better angle and looks very similar to mine...observe: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CORVETTE-BARE-DIFFERENTIAL-CASE63-79_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33731QQihZ024QQitemZ370084310305QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Cool, now I need to see what my gear ratio is Thanks! stony
limits extention. Drag racers do it on the front end to limit travel
jerryb
Thank you sir...so I can assume that the setup requires this to prevent the halfshafts from over extending. limits extention. Six_Shooter
what on earth is that steel cable holding the rear control arms for!!! I've been thinking the same thing, they will have no use under driving conditions, except maybe extremely hard braking, would have to be from an extremely high speed and VERY hard braking. MAYBE extremly hard cornering might pick up the inside rear wheel, but then I would want it to droop, and stay in contact with the road. The only other use I can see is like you said to keep from over extending the half shafts, when the car is being raised by a jack or lift.
