bobbyc
i'm replacing the ball joints on my z...picked up the replacement part, and the nut is too large...it fits in the hole for the knuckle...but i can't get a socket on it...and the pitch is dif from the old ball joint. i need a 14x1.5 castle...that looks more like the one on the left. crappy picture i know...but i don't wanna hook up the digital camera it appears the left is a slotted nut...where the right is a castle nut....hmmm
Six_Shooter
Try Home Depot or Lowes. I know the Lowes that is local to me has castle nuts. If that doesn't work, look up Brafasco (might be Canadian only), Nut and Bolt Supply, or industrial supply houses that will likely be found in an industrial area. BTW, those are both "castle nuts", just different designs. Like a 240Z and 300Z are both Z cars, just different designs.
mikeatrpi
Short of a specialty faster store, I've had good luck in the Help! section of the parts store (zone, advance, etc)

JSM
I've had the best luck at Ace Hardware stores. They usually have tons of items to choose from. http://www.acehardware.com/home/index.jsp
