Administrators BRAAP Posted October 4, 2008 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2008 I’m sure some of you have some very creative automotive theme home furnishings. Well lets see it!?!?!?! Rusty junk in the front yard does not count. Must be purposefully creative Here are some examples I saw elsewhere, these are NOT mine…. m4xwellmurd3r
That reminds me of the camshaft+connecting rod rope barrier my dad had made for his car. he welded a con rod to the end of a camshaft and strung rope through the small end. xxjoeyxxeb
I don't have a picture of it yet, but Alec and I just powdercoated a friends' table legs. The legs are 2 rotors connected by a steel pipe, then a rim is placed on top, then a piece of glass on that for a coffee table. Heres a pic of the legs. Six_Shooter
I've seen a similar concept to the tp the block coffee table above, it was a little nicer though, maybe it was just the lighting. They used 4 pistons with connecting rods to support the glass, which looked very cool. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the GF to let me do the same thing. the rotor topped legs look pretty cool.

Six_Shooter
*drool* I love that style wheel, even better to be able to see it in the warmth (or coolth ) of your own living room.
Dave
This has been posted before but it does fit here. I guess that you can say this engine cooks.
kiwi303
I've seen quite a number of BIG cranks (10ish litre straight 6 diesels I suspect, from trucks) concreted into the ground with a mailbox on the top.
xxjoeyxxeb
This thread is giving me ideas of what to do with my old L26 if I don't sell it...
rturbo 930
Sorry, no pics, but I saw a lamp with a brake disk base, and camshaft shaft, as well as a spark plug as a toilet handle.
janaka
I have a 19" rim that I use as a cue holder in my billiards room
Six_Shooter
I have a 19" rim that I use as a cue holder in my billiards room I didn't see any pictures of that in the other thread.
janaka
I didn't take a pic of it specifically (didn't cross my mind) but you can see two cues by the wooden rack that are standing vertically on their own, rim is holding them up
DavyZ
Not mine, but related product too. I like stuff like that. If I don't finish the Z, I'll have to cut it up and make something similar. Handy for wine bottles!! Davy
DavyZ
The best looking engine coffee table I have ever seen was a F1(or LM?) Cosworth V8--the whole shebang, belts, pulleys, everything--advertised in Autoweek two decades ago. I think it is man-cave cool and too good for my house. *sigh* I'd love to have one, though. X64v
I had these on my wall for a while: My current end table: They're used-up Victoracers. I've been looking for a glass top to put on it, but I may leave it like this.
JSM
I don't know why, but this thread screams, "You know your a redneck when....you make furniture out of car parts!" Not that there is anything wrong with being a redneck! Sorry, my wife is an interior designer, she would have a fit if I ever tried to theme our house this way. veritech-z
I've got two end tables i made from some never-mounted Enkei tuner wheels we had laying around when i worked at Saturn. I got the glass from Bed, Bath, and Beyond of all places, and used some little stick-on rubber feet to keep them from slipping around. I want to paint my two remaining Western Cyclone wheels black and make two more, but I never seem to find the time. when my cell phone decides to finally send the other picture to my email i'll post the other one since it's a different model wheel. veritech-z
For the record, these are in my apartment in Orlando, not my place in Tampa where my wife is.
