CerebralSponge
I tried to search but I don't know the name of this piece so it makes it kinda hard. There are 2 buttons in my S130 that the brake pedal is supped to push in. Problem 1: My pedal seems to have a hole on each side right where the buttons should make contact. So they won't get pressed in when the brake is in it's resting position. Problem 2: My buttons work backwards. The buttons should work such that when the brake is in it's resting position, it pushes the buttons in, and the brake lights go off. Then when you push the brake, the buttons let out, and the lights turns on. Does anybody know where the relay is, or where this message could be getting mixed up? I was told the black box under the passenger seat, but is this really it/can I do anything to fix it or just replace it? I have a welder so I could just fill the holes in the pedal, but I wanted to make sure they aren't there for a purpose. It just looks as if they were put there to make the button system not work? Do they really plan cars to confuse people? Thanks for any help! Brake lights sure would be nice.
naviathan
The hole on the pedal itself is suppose to have a rubber nipple in it that pushes on the button.
CerebralSponge
Thanks. Do you happen to know if it just fills the hole so it's flush, or if it sticks out towards the buttons?
gwnwar
It sticks out @ 1/8 > 1/4" If I remember right the switch adjusts too.
Chemicalblue
I know this sounds ghetto, but I had mine (rubber bumper) disintegrate a few years ago, suddenly. For a quick fix I glued 4 pennies together and e taped it to the pedal. Its still there to this day, and I'm not fixing it on purpose. A Friend of mine said it wouldn't work, so every time I come by with the z , its a little zing on some white trash ingenuity. lol
CerebralSponge
Thanks for the measurements, both in inches and pennies. think I'm gonna stick with welding cause I'm still kinda new to it and it makes me feel cool. But just because of this thread I might actually try to weld a stack of pennies together. Unless I can find a piece of hard rubber that I could fashion a plug out of. But that sounds kind of annoying. So the big question is does anybody know why the signal is being reversed, or what I can do to fix it? Hyuri
Last time I was in Lowe's, they had a drawer of corks and stoppers in the hardware aisle. Maybe get a couple of the rubber stoppers and trim them down/glue them in place? Just a thought.

I only had to use one penny though and I jb welded it in place. Got to love back yard "ingnearin." Kevin
