notheredave Posted June 19, 2009 Share Posted June 19, 2009 I have done two prior 240z turbos...the first one was a stock 192K miles 82' L28 turbo in a orange 72' stock boost 6.5Lbs. and a starion intercooler. My second was a Yellow 73' with MAF conversion, Saab intercooler, 300zx rotors with 280ZX calipers, and 280zxt rear brakes, variable rate regulator, recaro's etc. My new project: 1973 240Z I bought from cars for a cause off of eBay $600 It was on a farm in northern California and hadn't been registered from 1984 and has some rust on the roof. The laundry list of collected parts (currently has a stock L28t and zx 5 speed): L28 with p90 a set of Mahle forged pistons 90.3 or 90.5? 240z rods shotpeened and ARP bolts T4 IHI Ball bearing similar to GT35 Jim Wolf Tech 450HP ECU 420cc's that flow at 490cc (3 Bar) Lightning maf big Intercooler (gift...don't know who makes it) R200 LSD (I was having a VLSD when after 20 years I finally found a CLSD) FS5R30A 87' Turbo Tranny and 92' Z32 5 speed Q45 front breaks 89' 300zx rear brakes (big ventilated ones) MOMO steering wheel New MR2 seats (fit perfect) 76' gas tank Bosch turbo fuel pump (2) 205 50 15 Kumho's Full set of Tokico springs and struts (which I will be changing the fronts in the rear and 88' MR2 rears in front.) Needs I want 15"X8" rears, and 15"X7" fronts XXR rims (2) Kumho's for the rears bolt on flares paint job I might have forgot a few things but what do you think??? I've got the duel ball bearing gt35 and LOVE it, I think you'll like that turbo if its in the same ball park. The only thing I am not sure of is the Tokico Springs...There are a lot of Hybrid guys saying that they are bad, that they bind or the suspension rids funny. So when I section the strut housings I am going to cut and inch out of both sides of the purch so a I have an extra inch of travel and an inch lower. and if all of that doesn't work...Coil overs!!! Looks like you got all the stuff to put down some good #'s Yeah I have seen the adapters for T3 to T4 But I have only seen the T3 to T3 that have the waste gate comming of of the adapter...soo I will either moun the waste gate on the front part of the cast iron stock turbo mainifold by grinding a flat spot and drill (2) holes (and tap) for the mounting and a big hole for the waste gate piston port. Looks like you got all the stuff to put down some good #'s PS Big Phil I didn't read your handle before posting last...I have enjoyed your videos...I was inspired to GO BIG and I also have a big Holset WH1C with a 12 housing...I got it because the wastegate was rusted slightly open and he couldn't spell so I got it for $60 and it's super clean.
