jerryb
Low ball both and get both. Nothing like having a local parts bin to work from. As I see it the most critical aspect is how solid is the car. Body work is expensive and time consuming. The car with the "new Interior" catches my attention as it implies the body is decent...but ......? I guess the bottom line is for that price I doubt either are a gem so better look very closely at both and pick the most solid. What state is Pluto in? Project Z
I'd take the second one. The first one can be had for cheap but you need to work more on it, pay the back fees and swap in a manual tranny. 4 spd beats auto =)
MAG58
They both look super clean. Probably means you're from the southwest. ...Pluto's a planet too damnit! Anyway, I vote get both, though if you plan on shoe-horning something cool inside the engine bay, the extra room the auto trans tunnel gives you will be a welcome site and it wouldn't take much to grab a manual pedal box and clutch master. I vote the first one... Then Both... Then the second.
Edward
yeah the new interior catches my attention, also im planning on going l28et. thots? and yes ima be looking closely for rust and what not. im liking the second one also because the fact its already a manual tranny. but from the pictures the exterior of the first one looks good. what would you say a good low ball offer for the second one would be?. thanks for your responses, ED ps. pluto thing was a joke on my parts lawlz

240z!!!
at least the clock works(first picture has different time than the other) but that must be one of the inbetween models because of the series-2 wing badges but it has a series-1 console and series-1 seat adjusters....oh and by the way the seats are backwards, seat adjusters go toward the door, sorry it was bugging me

Sparks280zt
Avoid the sunroof. A job to fix. Pluto is not a planet, its a binary system in the Kuiper belt!
stravi757
Personally, I think I would keep waiting, like said above, I would avoid a sun roof.
Edward
so you guys think i should go wit the first one?
Edward
or should i scout the market some more? probably the smart thing to do
jerryb
Its a matter of immediate budget. While both appear to be in decent shape they may not run strong. If pluto is close to many more better Zs then by all means...keep looking. Buy the best car you can afford!
sticky280zx
obviously youre in cali...check the for sale section here, wingenzero or whatnot has alot better car for around the same price, he even offered to fix it up for the cost of parts/receipts if i wanted to just fly out and drive it back (that says alot about someone to me). Of these cars though, the first car has backdue stuff and in cali they like to salvage the title on those (or so ive seen), it also is a basket-case and auto so its more work to swap to manual. The second car doesnt look as good but im thinking it is probably more solid than the first because newer paint means its had body work and could be full of bondo. The clutch is an easy fix (ive got those down to a 2 hour process on my driveway). Now the sunroof is easy to fix just a new gasket or like i did, take the glass out and get 2-3 tubes of liquid gasket/black silicone and run a THICK bead all the way around (ive never had any more leak issues out of mine now). But it all depends on your plans for the cars, how much you're wanting to spend IN THE END (too often people think more about the purchase price than overall total), and if you HAVE to have one right away....deals do come along, you just have to wait it out sometimes and you will be alot happier in the end. Hope that helps you out. -Jeff

sticky280zx
Then get something solid and reliable that needs paint and interior work, but has a good drivetrain and clean body.
