ToplessZ
Im not sure what all it requires and how hard it is to do but would someone really be cool and do a photoshop mockup of the 98-01 2 door honda accord tail lights and if its not a huge bit of trouble the acura nsx taillights also. I am really wanting to go this route. Thanks someone
Guest Anonymous
Just found the pefect tail lights on a car in the local scrapyard. One word my friends. Delorean. My scrapyard won't sell me the taillights though! They have had this car for two years and there stil holding on to a strand of hope that someone will pay 6,500 for a Delorean that doesn't run and was in a minor accident. Guest Aaron
LEN168, you may want to check out the 2nd gen Pulsar NX. They had a third brake light that hung from the roof of the car on the inside. It was only used when the rear hatch was removed. It might be just what you are looking for.
Guest Anonymous
I finally got my mouth built for the rear. The beast is finished and ready for paint (finally.......I hope.....) Terry car looks fab.Steve
tsumner
Terry,as usual your craftsmanship is amazing. Have you tried to fab a grill for the opening? I think the opening looks unfinished .I saw a car at a recent show with costom vents that were backed by the aluminum mesh used to keep leaves out of gutters, looked trick and easy to fab. Just a thought. Tom
Guest Willieboy240z
I really like that DIY look on the red Z in Sleek Z's photos. I wish I had the skill to produce something as clean and utilitarian as that. Despite the pleasure I get from doing some of my own Z mods, I'd rather employ a prefab solution with the tail lights. It sure would be nice to have a materials list and some good instructions on putting something like that together. Sill, I like this "prototype" of a slick Z light setup that is on a handful of Zs out there: Unfortunately, discussions with Tsunami indicate they are in no hurry to produce the item in quantity. Maybe if more people visited their site and inquired about it, they might become motivated to start selling them. Tsunami

Guest Ziggy Vulcan
Is it just me or does the back end of a 240Z look a whole lot like the back of an early model mustang fastback?
jeromio
Man. I was just looking thru this thread again. Terry, you are chock fullo talent. That car is just the best looking car ever - Z or anything else. And of the pics from the link that Tim posted, I stopped on this one: Very mesmerizing. It's like this really amazing set of wheels (HRE $$$ ?), with a S30 bolted to them....

blueovalz
It's got an Acura grill in it. It's flat black and you could not see the grill (horizonal lines about 1/2" apart from top to bottom). So I lightly sprayed some silver paint onto the outside edges of the grill work, and it looks real nice with the grill finally visible. blueovalz
Here is the grill with a more visible silver paint on the grill edges. The flat black grill just did not show up at all.

blueovalz
I never got the specific pics up either, even with the C&P method. I think once you join or register it's available, but I did not try that.
Guest Anonymous
Ok i am thinking of putting 180sx tail lights on my 77 280z. What does everybody think and any body done it. Also what do some of you that have done a tail light conversion use to fill in the gaps because of corse it wont fit perfect. Thanks Jason
Guest Anonymous
Haven't seen it in the thread previously, but what about reproducing the look and style of the original 240z taillights using an array of LED's. Best of both worlds, looks more or less stock, but still new and high tech. (definitely would want to use the euro style with the amber lenses though if I do it). 280Zone
Hey TempeZ, I hope you don't mind but I already stole your idea. I used the stock 280 lights and put in strips of LED's. I couldn't bring myself to do it to the Euro tailights I have though. BTW have you heard about www.DesertZAssociation.com
Guest Anonymous
Yeah, just don't have much time between working full time and school almost full time. Friend of mine goes sometimes with his 510 though. Don't worry bout stealing the idea I wouldn't cut up the old lights, just make a replica of them of sorts with all new stuff. (Now as for all those superbright LED's that might get kinda spendy)
