Dominic,

If you can come up with some high quality samples you should be able to sell your stuff through someone like MotorSport Auto in Orange, CA. That would significantly increase your potential sales volumes. The tentative pricing you've indicated looks like it will be competitive with OEM parts but in carbon fiber. That should be good enough to get the sales. I know I'd rather have the parts in carbon fiber because it solves the problems that the OEM parts currently have - weight, strength & durability. Keep us posted.

Dominic...

are you the famed Dominic with the crazy alternator building skills? if so, have you taken a look at just how much power you would be able to pull out of one of the Z alternator chassis'?

I am very curious, but the local shop told me I would be lucky if someone could pull more than 110A out of the stock cases...

any opinions? (heh, if you are indeed one and the same)

thanx,

Big Purds

I have already made my own brackets and have a 130A alt in there off of a 350...and my friend has installed another HO alternator (225A) in his 72 in the same manner...we both made our own brackets, its not too difficult...was just wondering about a HO alt in a stock case...

somebody said it before, but i think that some zg flares spoiler and gnose would look very badass in unpainted carbon. man that would be sweet. Some fender mirrors would be cool too but that would be hard to form i imagine.

Yeah, it's a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot of work. I've ventured into it myself, and personally I would never offer any to customers because of how much time it actually takes out of your life to do projects like this, unless it's your main source of income.

I'm doing it as a hobby, and it's a very expensive one.
