alainburon
I dug up some parts this weekend and installed the speakers in the door panels. The hardware that came with the speakers did not work, thank god for ACE Hardware and their fasteners section. I don't recall anything I have purchased for this car that just fits out of the box. It seems like you always have to either buy different bolts or modify something in order for it to fit. Thank god for beer if not I would have thrown a hammer through the front windshield of this car a long time ago.
texis30O
Glad to have helped. I needed to get the car out and stretch its' legs anyway. Good to see you again.
alainburon
I have not been able to do much on the car due to all the traveling for work but I was able to do some Dynamat on the trunk and the passenger side floor board, also used 1/2" Dynaliner in the trunk area. Hopefully that will quiet the fuel pump some. I had the headliner and shock towers wrapped in leather and stitched in blue to match the rest of the interior. Hopefully I can get it into the fab shop to have my fuel, nitrous and brake lines ran.
texis30O
Cuts on your hands? lol mount your fuel pump exterior of the cabin. I feel like I am wearing mine around my neck, it is too damn loud. A1000 pump fyi....
DREW RBZ
Hey guys. I am currently running dual external bosch 044 pumps which are mounted under the car however they were pretty loud as well. I ended up wiring in an aeromotive fuel pump controller. The pumps are much quieter at idle and lower rpm but ramp up as rpm increases. Go to their website for more detail. It made a big difference in cabin noise. alainburon
Well I made some progress this past week. I was able to finish most of the Dynamat, I ran out again and had to order box # 3. This car is going to be heavy but I'm not concerned about that, I want it to be as quiet as possible and get rid of the tin sound these cars always have. Hell I can always add more Nitrous if I need to....lol I was able to get the evaporator in as well as made some braided A/C lines to go to the bulkhead in my firewall. Got the pedals in as well as all the brackets that hold it together and the steering column. Also I was able to get my new mirror mounted, it has homelink feature, auto diming, external temperature and compass display. Installed the chrome plated roll bar and the trunk panels which I had made out of wood instead of reusing the factory cardboard junk.. It's funny how a 1 hour job sometimes turns out to take all day but I guess that's part of working on these old cars. Now I will start working on the Nitrous purge set up I want to do as well as installing the power windows.

Stock Car Mafia
I can't wait to see how many people go home blind after a car show with this thing!
alainburon
LOL, I guess there is a little bling on this car. Just finished the hand brake cable on the Arizona Z parking brake. What a PITA this was. Purchased a Lokar universal stainless braided parking brake cable kit and had to modify to fit. Also had to have some brackets made that will hold the cable at the caliper and if that was not enough I had to source some springs to return the brake cable back to its original position once released since the Lokar set up its not strong enough. Finally everything works as it should. Time for some Whiskey....
alainburon
Got the Nitrous purge done. Two Nitrous purge kits with blue LEDs where installed in the cowling. I was not able to take the car to the fab shop to have my brake, fuel and nitrous tubing installed and I had to go out of town on business so I will have to wait until I get back. Another set back but at least I'm making some progress.
Domzs
I haven't been on for a long time, figured you are done with the car by now. LOL.
alainburon
Man I wish you were right. It has been a waiting game now with the Fab shop that will be doing my brake lines, fuel lines and nitrous lines in stainless. They don't have room to leave my car inside and I just won't have my car sitting out in the weather. I have been waiting for over 2 months already but it looks like I may be able to get it in there mid Jan. I rather wait for these guys since they are very good at what they do and very reasonable when it comes to pricing. Some of the Fab shops around here think they are working on the space shuttle when they quote you a price. In the mean time I have started working on the wiring. I sent the factory wiring schematics to Centech wiring and they are going to make me a custom wiring harness with fuse panel. I just love their fuse panel and quality. Hope to have that back in the next week or so this way I can wire the car and start putting together the interior while I wait on the fab shop to make room for my car. I want to get the motor installed so bad it's not even funny.
texis30O
Full on new harnesses for the car? I am about to get a harness and fuse box made up for mine ( cause the factory stuff tried to burn the car down....)
alainburon
Yes sir, I don't want the original wiring causing me any problems later. Too much work in this car to watch it burn to the ground.

alainburon
I know right, I'm still waiting to take the car to the fab shop to have my brake, fuel and nitrous tubing installed. These guys are really busy and just can't seem to get me in there, I call them every week so they don't forget that I'm waiting on them. I have called around to others like Powerfab, 3D performance etc.. and they don't want to do it. The problem is the double flare on the stainless tubing for the brake lines. As soon as I mention that they all say the same thing. NO because doing double flare on stainless is a PITA. I can't install the motor until I get that done so now I'm at a standstill. Hopefully I can get the car to the fab shop in the next 2 weeks but I have been saying that for over 2 months now. In the mean time I have been doing little things like running a tap down every threaded hole to get the primer and paint out of there. I was surprised how long that takes. I also went through the blower motor assembly and refurbished it. I may install my door panels this weekend but really for the most part I'm done for now. Stock Car Mafia
I don't know how you do it man! My patience would be running quite thin with waiting on others to do the work. And then you feel like a nuisance when you consistently call. I suppose that is the great thing about attempting to do it yourself. The fate is in your hands! alainburon
Whiskey, whiskey and more whiskey is how I deal with it....LOL To be honest all this waiting on others to get this car done is very frustrating. In April it will be 4 years since I started this project and I don't see me being done by then. I have mechanical skills but no fab skills that's why some things I will not attempt. I could do it I'm sure but it is not going to be to the caliber I expect for this car.
