  1. The guy who makes them for MSA is a member on here, named Dave, his username is: HLS30-08077 Hit him up.
  2. While on the discussion of engine bays and seeing that nice bracing work. Is there someplace to purchase weld-on brackets for rod ends like that? Im very out of touch with chassis hardware suppliers.
  3. @SunnyZ I bought a set from "specialcarbonfiber" on ebay. They were absolutely flat/didnt match the Z at all. =Returned them. Do not buy from specialcarbonfiber. I then bought a set from "jendosa" on ebay, they fit pretty well, small gap before bolting them on, but its probably on par with Motorsport-Z's.
  4. Mine just came in. Black with Polished Lip- I would of preferred all black or all flat black... but for the price I'm fine with the polished look. Photos (from iphone)
  5. Google searched the speedhunters article and it says: "Check out the new-gen speedometer which joins the rest of the Defi gauges, integrated into the stock binnacles."
  6. He just replied to me about 20 minutes ago. Said rear rails are about 7-10 days out right now.
  7. So, anyone have a phone number for John @ Baddog? If so could you PM it to me? I've emailed him twice for shipping price for the rails but havent had a reply. Thanks-
  8. I searched and only found the name mentioned in a 3 threads, but never on how to order from them. (I guess I need to learn japanese, j/k) Thank you very much for the link google didnt bring up their site on the first page search results. Looks like the price isnt too bad either if my currency conversion is right. 18000 yen is only $230, has me curious to find out what the shipping cost is.
  9. Paid 160. Cheap, didnt expect the best, but didnt expect this bad. Perhaps I am just cheap, but I'd be willing to pay 200-250 for a fitting set. So, if so many of you guys have NOS/OEM ZG flares, why not make a mold off of them and sell it for some good cash?
  10. Would this be from the yahoo japan auctions or how do you find this? I'm interested in some better quality flares as long as the price isnt outrageous.
  11. It appears that way. These things dont fit the length of the fender opening, they're all identical widths (i though there were front and rears?), and they're perfectly flat. Needless to say these are going back. I've already put them back in the box. So, rumor has Les makes better quality?
  12. I saw that, I figured there was a tad bit of trimming involved as some people have noted about the MSA flares. I should note I already sent a message to the seller and have been waiting on a reply from them.
  13. Just received a set of "240z ZG flares" from an ebay seller: "specialcarbonfiber" They have a perfectly flat mounting surface and dont match the width of opening of the fender towards the bottom, is this correct? I thought these were molded with the bodyline and a close-to-oem curve? Have I just been hoodwinked into a set of universal ZG flares? I can take photos after work if need be. Thanks- Joel
  14. Update: Bought the Hayden 3647 at pep-boys today, spent a few minutes wiring it up, the instructions say the green wire is for the pos. wire on the a/c clutch... so I tested the a/c clutch wire with a 9v battery, it fired them right up. So its good to go.
  15. Bringing this thread back from the dead. (sorry) So, this Hayden unit has an A/C clutch wire that kicks the fans on, can that wire be used as a switch to turn on the fans, say- from a switch at the dash? I'd assume so, but just dont want to throw 12v at it without having a better educated guess.
  16. How about its wire harness? If you'd separate it, I'd be interested depending on price and if it matches mine.
  17. Bondo is very very cheap filler. I wouldnt suggest it on any car, glass filler or not. TCP global sells good stuff online, I recommend Quantum1, it doesnt require a glaze coat, and feathers very nicely.
  18. I recall a photo of a red Z with something similar to this done. Go on MSA's site, find louvered inspection lids, that first car had it. Different, but I think its the same concept.
  19. Oh, thanks. Very good to know. I was just assuming this from the description on baddog's site calling them replacement rails. I definitely go ahead with them then.
  20. I am in a very similar spot right now. My frame rails have no rust... But are smashed to hell and back, so bad its even dented the floor a bit. I think the slip-over rails are only for the 280z, so- unfortunately my Z is a 240. ... Just debating if its another to add to my "while I'm at it" list before I paint this winter.
  21. Forgeline wheels here in dayton was making prototypes CF wheels. Last I knew Dave (the owner) considered them too unstable to use. I'd really really like to see a vented 280z hood in CF or fiberglass, all I've seen is the 240z. Or even one like Mark Rolston's Z.
  22. S130, did you figure out a fix for this? My tach as smooth as butter till about 3500 rpm as well, then it spikes all over the place. It even thought I was idling at 4k once after jumping around a bit. Anyone else that may know a solution I'd be quite happy to try it. Edit; I cut the purple wire loop on my lunch break. It removed the huge jumping/spiking over 3k, however the tach is jumping around 300-500rpm at all rpms now. Sorry for the semi-old-thread bump.
  23. Brand new? I'm afraid to hear the price but PM me?
  24. Thanks! I just sent messaged to the craigslist guy asking for the part numbers off his harness... my 71 is a series 2 with the short pigtail fuse box so the second link is out Thanks again- Joel
  25. I'm quite fed up with how hacked up my wiring is, wires melted, gauge wires twisted together with 12v, lights spliced all over... So if someone knows of a late '71 dash harness available (part numbers below), thats not butchered (or minimally), I'd like to hear what you would want for it. Can PM me or comment here. Part numbers on the end of my harness are: 24013 E8321 24013 E8322 Thanks!
