  1. I am going to go skydiving in a few months from now in Taft , CA. I live in Los Angeles and the only way there is the grapevine down the 5 north. I've been there before, but never in my Z's. And that thing is intimidating and I usually stay in shoulder lane with trucks because I didn't want to push the inline 4 isuzu amigo. The question is how have your s30z or any old z handle it? I am going to redo my cooling system and will have anywhere around 130whp out of the L engine. With your experiences can a Z take care of it driving at normal speed with modern cars and not in the shoulder lane with trucks on emergency lights.
  2. I am looking to buy http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/10-2139 the question is can I run this and drill it to mount magnets? I will be using SDSem46f. Any one using this setup? Brian
  3. you will need a 280z yoke and 280z side stub axles to bolt in with an s30 halfshaft. If you plan on going cv axles, it wont work with those cv's. You will need Turbo 4 bolt cv axles. It will fit as long as you use the 280z r200 mustache bar. No mods to Drivehsaft or anything else. Like I said use 280z yoke and stub axles.
  4. I am Looking for 240z stub axles that bolt into r180 and need the retaining buttons. I need this for 2 weeks or if someone locally in LA has a spare diff I can borrow for 2 weeks r200 or r180 I can pay and give a good 3.54 r200 after the 2 weeks.
  5. Hi brianZortiz , please let me know for the parts.

    ciao / bye

  6. You know you own a datsun z when your car brakes down and it only takes no more than a day to fix because of it's simplicity. You know you own a datsun when you hear the L6 and you look and smile when you see one.
  7. I'm in the market for ssr formula mesh 4x114. 16" first choice. 15" is my second. Deep lip preferred. Brian
  8. You know you own a datsun when everywhere you stop someone will talk cars with you and give the thumbs up!
  9. @yarddogg77 I've seen that link, he shaved 80thou. I will look into the thicker gasket but it seems shim kits are available at a really cheap price. @rejracer what do you think about this? http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/10-1151 I'm thinking this can work. And I have stock l28et p90 lash pads. Do you know what thickness I need to look at?
  10. Thanks! But the spacer gasket? I don't know what that is.
  11. I am also trying to do a 280zxt alternator swap in early 260z. Interlock is disabled by PO owner or never came with it but it has a lot of relays and I'm trying get rid of them and have a electric pump to turn on when ignition switch is turned. I know it's a safety feature. I am lost, I hate wiring!
  12. I got a call from my machine shop, he told me my head needs 20 thousands shaved to get it flat. Its for my L28et motor, the head holds pressure and its good with no cracks. I know shaving will bump up the compression but the head has never been resurfaced. Ive read that 1-1.5 thousands is like a cleanup and can get away without shims. I will be running no more than 17psi and DD at 12-14 psi. I was wondering if I can get away without shimming or will I need to shim to get the chain nice and tight? Input welcome.. -Brian
  13. I might be wrong but the 280zxt distributor didn't use a base. Or this only applies to 82-83 distributor and 81 used a base?
  14. I'm looking for pictures of where and how you guys mounted your surge tank setup. I also wanted to know who runs the 73/74 electric pump as a lift/low pressure to feed surge tank or should I upgrade to a Carter low pressure pump. I am close to finish swap. -Brian
  15. I was thinking about the wetsand and buff but it seems like a hard job to tackle. I think I might just buy the random orbital buffer. They are around $30. If it doesn't work I might use the swirl x then carnuba wax. I think by hand I wasn't really working it like it supposed to.
  16. Have you used ultimate compound? or what compund have you used in your 904? Hand or machine? Yes, 904 is a great color in a Z.
  17. Hey, I've owned my car for 1 year and has the original 1973 paint. It's in great condition. I used meguairs paint restoration kit to clay bar, ultimate compound, and wax. Once I finished I discovered scratches and swirls. I was wondering what way do you guys polish and wax with and what method on original paint. My cars paint is 904 white. The reason I used the kit was to remove bird droppings and tree tar which worked really well. I think the ultimate compound exposed the swirls and/or created them.
  18. Akira, pick ur part in el Monte next to irwindale has 3-4 280z. All have diff intact.
  19. If you need 82-83 turbo distributor with CAS I won't need since I'm going Sds em46f. $80 plus shipping. In good running shape.
  20. You can also invest money into McKinney/Megan coilovers kit for s30z. I would have gone that route but I already invested in GC and tokico.
