    I went with Jon's advice and called Delta Camshafts. The sold me a .500/300 cam and so far I really like it. Great throttle response, good nasty idle, but not at all un streetable...well the car's not actually on the road yet, but it runs real good. I'm running Dellorto 40's w/ 36mm chokes.

    Well, my RS has a lot of suspension mods. I think the Scooby would hand the Z it's a** on a back road, well maybe a bumpy back road, but the Z would stomp it in a straight line or on a smooth track. You just can't compete with the sound of a triple Delloto'd L28. Well, it's kinda like comparing apples and hand grenades... they're both sorta round...

    I'd go with a Delta regrind. They'll sell you a cam without a core. I think I paid $100 for mine. .500 lift/ 300 dur. sounds NASTY, but too big for your use. I think they have a pretty extensive cam library. Their sevice is awsome too. Real nice guys.

    How true. I got REAL bent when I popped my motor. We all have to have fun at other people's expense. Just trying to make light of a sucky situation. I feel your pain. I made a home made timing chain wedge, wasn't paying attention, chatting with someone, bumped the cam gear with my elbow and the tensioner and spring ended up in the oil pan. My mood wasn't so great then. I understand, just a failed attempt at humor.

    Is checking lash at the valve common practice for most aftermarket cams? I just installed a new Delta cam, but haven't adjusted anything or degreed the cam yet. By the way, their service is awsome, as are their prices.

    As long as you've decided to rebuild with all new internals, throw it back together and beat it till it blows up! Seriously, a friend of mine fragged a lifter in his big block chevy- 68 Firebird, we were so disgusted, we put a big magnet on the oil pan, replaced the lifter, and he's been beating the thing for over a year! We figure the rotating assembly on a BBC is so massive it will just pulverize anything that gets in it's way. Plus catostrophic engine failures are cool...

    I don't know, I've driven countless hard mile on my CF DF clutch with no problems at all. But I'm running N/A. My friend is running one in his 468 powered 65 Nova with drag radials with no slippage. As a matter of fact, he keeps blowing up Muncies. He shifts the thing at around 7000!!!

    I'm not sure on paint color. I keep changing my mind on that too. I swear, I'm worse than a friggin chick! That's why I'm leaning towards magnesium.

    I killing myself trying to decide which color to buy. 16x9-13F, 16x9.5-19R either Gold or Magnesium. The car will probably be Land Rover Forest Green. The magnesium is almost bronze. CAN'T DECIDE!!! I want to order these soon, cuz it's gonna take 2 - 3 months.
