  1. you can purchase them from either Wheelchoice or Takumi Project. Both in Cali. 3 month wait!!!
  2. Hey all. I need some advice on Watanabe choices. I've decided on magnesium color. I just can't decide whether to get the machined lip or not. Machined is pretty, but all one color is menacing. I need to be sure on my decision...these things are expensive!
  3. I don't know if you guys have heard of these guys before. SHOWCARS-BODYPARTS.COM They have all sorts of Z parts. Doors, fenders, hoods, cowl induction hoods, ZG flares, G noses, etc. Check them out! Brian
  4. I found a company selling all sorts of Z body parts, including a couple of different style G noses, even one with a built in air dam...looks awsome. I don't know how to post the link, but their address is showcars-bodyparts.com Brian
  5. Hey guys, I just stumble across a Z32 trans on ebay for $350. Seller's name is JDMExchange2005. Just thought you would like to know. Brian
  6. I work with the stuff almost every day. The expansion and contraction properties are tremendous. The seams will never be the same between cool in the shade or in direct sunlight. And the stuff scratches if youlook at it wrong. Wash your car once, and it'll be all scratched up. Plexiglass (acrylic), no matter how thick will not be strong enough to hold a hinge mechanism. Lexan (polycarbonate) is strong, but I would recomend against it because it is not very resistant to UV light. Just not a good idea overall. Sorry.
  7. I know that I should check the clearance with putty, I'm just trying to get away from taking the head back off my motor. When I grabbed the cam out of my old motor that I blew up, I noticed that one of the lobes was scored fairly badly, but that's a different story. I need to get a new cam for this motor and since I wasn't thrilled with the last cam... I'd just hate to spend the loot on a new cam and run into interferance problems. I REALLY don't want to have to pull this thing apart to have the pistons cut for valve reliefs and put it back together again. While I'm waiting for my new Dellortos, I need to figure out this cam thing. I want a big nasty cam, but I don't want to spend a lot of time and money on machine work. If there is any question, I'll just have to go with a smaller cam. Also, I know that cam timing has an effect on clearance.
  8. I'm sorry. It's a .490/290 grind. The other one is a .530/306
  9. Just a thought... am I gonna run into piston to valve clearanc problems with Isky's .530 lift cam? Will I realize the potential of the cam with an unported head? Should I just stick with their .495 cam?
  10. I was once told by D.L.Potter that the water can flow too fast through some aluminum radiator that it doesn't have enough time for proper heat transfer. I was having the same problem. He told me to try putting some sort of restriction in the upper radiator hose. I popped my motor before I got to try it though.
  11. where should I get a cam from. I checked Isky, Comp, Crower, and Web. None of them have anything in the 500/300 range.
  12. I'm gonna ZG flare my Z. I just think 17" wheels look too modern. If I could find decent tires, I'd rather do 15 inchers. Tire selection is pretty sparse for anything wide.
  13. I've recently come into about $2500 and it's burning a hole in my pocket! What better way to spend said amount than on a set of Watanabes? Are they really worth it? I love the magnesium color. I'm suddenly single after 4 years and I think it's time to spend money on myself for once! Making up my mind is killing me.
  14. If I'm already using the double springs suplied by Schneider, do I have to get new springs? If so, which ones? And new (different) seals? Thanks, Brian
  15. I hope this hasn't been beat to death. I've searched but not found. I'm looking for a bigger cam. I have the MSA 480/274 and I'm not really happy. I have a F54 flat top, P90 with "the mod", tripple dellorto 40s, MSA header, zx dizzy, Crane HI6, zx 5 speed, 3.90 R200. Any suggestions? I don't care about idle, the nastier the better. I don't want this thing to run out of lungs at 6000rpm. Brian
  16. Nobody ever said that the blow through was the only way or the best way it is just ANOTHER way. It's different, that's all. I don't want to start another pissing contest. My friend is making a LOT of very usable horsepower on a small block chevy with a blow through supercharger. The same principles should apply with a blow through turbo. It may not be the best way, but it looks cool.
  17. I have to look, but I think I might have a set of FG buckets at work. Let me know if anyone's still looking for them.
  18. Jeez, I didn't think people were so uptight around here. If someone wants to do something different, they should be supported. By the way, the Procharger blow through carb setup has NEVER needed to be re jetted due to temperature, and it makes MUCHO horsepower.
  19. Why thow out the blow through idea. If you love carbs and want a turbo, go for it. It may not be as easy as FI, it may give you fits, but what the hey, it'll be different. I've been playing with the idea myself. My friend is using a blow through supercharger setup on a V8 and it actually IMPROVES the drivability. People are so down on doing anything with tripples. I drove my Z with a L28 with trip. Dellortos year round, in Connecticut, in the snow with no problems at all. I even deleted the choke mechanism.
  20. Sounds great. You seem to really have this figured out! I can't wait until you get this project finished. I may follow in your footsteps.
  21. COOL! I can't wait to see better pics. By the way, what are you using for injection/ engine management. Sorry to change the subject.
