  1. My cam is a .300/295 from Delta. I'm also running 40mm Dellortos with 36mm venturis on a shaved p90 and flat top f54 block. Sounds nice and nasty, good throttle response, not at all unstreetable. Idles at 900rpm. I agree with Jon. He talked me into the bigger cam, I'm glad he did.http://s130.photobucket.com/albums/p259/subewrc/Z%20stuff/?action=view&current=Zpics047.flv
  2. Intake too. A couple little pops, but it's been sitting a while. Valves need adjusting too.http://s130.photobucket.com/albums/p259/subewrc/Z%20stuff/?action=view&current=Zpics048.flv
  3. That's the cheep-o MSA turbo exhaust, just as it came out of the box.
  4. I ran 215/60R14 on ZX six spokes on my 240Z without any rubbing at all. Even lowered. If you think a 215 will hook up, you can forget that though. I could broil the hides at will in 1st and you'd have to be careful in 2nd, a quick stab of the gas in 2nd and you'd be sideways.
  5. I put this motor together almost a year ago. A guy wanted to buy it, so I decided to start it, on fresh gas of course, I'm so glad the guy's wife wouldn't let him buy it!http://s130.photobucket.com/albums/p259/subewrc/Z%20stuff/?action=view&current=Zpics047.flv
  6. I can tell you, mine was damn near that nice when I bought it, but I was 20 and stupid, so I started modifying it. Now it's a piece of crap. But I still love it.
  7. Don't sell it. If you're frustrated, just put it in storage until you're ready to work on it again. I almost sold mine last weekend, but the guy's wife said "NO". I think that was an omen. I parked mine 7 years ago and last year got a bug up my a$$ and built a new motor, p90, custom cam, Dellortos, the whole nine. Then I parked it again. I started it last weekend and that was all I needed to want to work on it again. Long story short...don't sell it!
  8. I haven't been around in a while, where did you get them? I don't see them listed anywhere?
  9. He already knows he has an f54. He wants to know if it has flat tops or dished pistons.
  10. If I'm not mistaken, the NA- F54s had flat tops. Mine did. I think the turbo F54s had dished pistons. I could be wrong though.
  11. Where can I get one of those TypeR mowers?!! That thing is bitchin!! Isn't photoshop grand? Maybe we can make a Mustang ride on.
  12. Okay, as I said, it's been a while since I've been here and I was unaware of the sudden onslought of drop ins. I had a few too many last night and was a little irked to see my post that I corrected myself in the "tool shed". I understand why it was put there. Maybe i just get over sesitive after drinking too many girlie drinks. I don't care... they just taste so good
  13. Hey all. I haven't been for a while as I've been working on my Pathfinder and been ignoring my Z. I don't want to start a fight, but has this site become unfriendly towards noobies of accidentaly stupid questions, or is it just me. We shouldn't forget where we all started. This is an awsome site and a wealth of information. I've owned my Z for over 10 years, but I always learn new things here. I don't think I've seen so many threads in the "tool shed" before. I know it's frustrating to answer the same questions over and over again, but we all weren't born as experts. I just think we should be a little more tolerant to noobies and the occasional dumb question. Just getting it off my chest. Thank you, I feel better now. Brian
  14. I don't normally like black Zs, but that thing is beautiful
  15. 1971 240Z- HLS30-17955. It's been sitting for years, perodically sucking money out my pockets...still not done yet. Every so often I try to sell it, but nobody wants it...I guess I'll have to keep it. Maybe I'll finish it before I die.
  16. You'd probably have to run steelies to get matching front & rear wheels or maybe you could get the axles redrilled by a machine shop.
  17. You're right, they are 6 bolt hubs. Most guys are drag racing straight axle Zs, so why not just buy 6 bolt wheels? I don't know, I'm never going to do it, just thought it would be a neat idea.
  18. yeah, I just bought a couple of Pathfinders, and the rear end looks promising for a variety of swaps. And they're dirt cheap too!
  19. Has anyone here ever considered modifying a pathfinder rear end for a straight axle conversion? They have a 9.3 inch ring gear and are already set up for a 4/5 link. Just a random thought.
  20. Any fitment for someone who has no formal training in anything? I've been a glazier for last 10 years. Incurable car nut with at least average mechanical ability. Anything on the ground floor that pays more than 38K? I'm probably dreaming.
  21. Your Z looks great. Stay away from body kits! I think the side skirts look awful. Just do an air dam or BRE Spook. I love the grey.
  22. Actually there are starting to be a lot more parts available for the Caddies. And last time I checked they weigh less than a BB Chevy. The valve trains suck. I guess that's one of the biggest expenses, switching to shaft mount rockers. Anyway, I might just be talking out of my a**. No repacement for displacement!!
  23. It was a few months ago that I got the quote, so my bad. I should have bought them back then. I decided to put the money into my motor. I figure that pretty wheels would do me no good if I didn't have a running motor. But it would look damn good while I was pushing in and out of the shop!
  24. Sorry, I don't mean to offend, but that's about retail for Watanabes. Takumi Project quoted me $2400 for Magnesium (special color) in 16x9 and 16x9.5 in correct offset for ZG flares. The group buy doesn't sound like that good of a deal.
