Phyxius... you are in a fix....asking Z fanatics about getting rid of precious ! Put it up for sale locally... this will get you a reality check on what it is worth.... and whether you will really sale or not. Quit spending money on it... and wait out the storm. Either you are a Z fanatic or not..What seperates these people on this website from others is "sheer determination" and lfe ain't right without a z dream fantasy (running or not).

Started GTO 250 project on 78 Z
Here comes trouble replied to Here comes trouble's topic in Body Kits & Paint
Tom-- one of the things that survived is that Alpha build-up article which I refer to since my Stable Works manual is missing. I consider the Kit Car article better than the manual. Things slowed down but , I have a little more money, and will probably have to utilize parts off the Tomohawk project suspension. The most important part is to get the GTO project finished and I made a dent in it. Load up and come out.. I always have room around here for you.....The wheels are replica Halibrands for the Cobra/Tomahawk project. I hace traditional cross lace Dayton "knock offs" for the 250 in 8 inch width where I can use smaller tires of the same size all around -
get thrown...get up and dust yourelf off and get another Z .. congratulations

That's the diff I gave away six years agp with a lot of gear teeth missing. The fellow had some notion of welding in beads for teeth and welding the pinion gear and and ring gear together for a complete no slip differential. One of a kind diff -

snork..did you drain all the old gas ? My theory is that modern gas gone old and bad is causing a lot of engine problems...here is a web page with a lot of good info on Z EFI http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/links/morelinks.htm -

Con Brio ...Ernie Racer X earlier pointed out that stainless steel "work hardened"... and he was very correct in that.......Keep working with it and it can get so hard that it is impossible to shape, drill or cut............... No !... I plan to use regular steel that can either be chromed or powder coated and in a thickness that can be easily welded to join at least 4 pieces together to make the headlight cover trim. I made some one piece stainless steel side vent trim but the placement was inappropriate (looked like crap) My best cutting was done on my Rigid metal cutting band saw in the vertical position on the small work table I fabricated. I am now re-thinking modifing and welding light gauge steel angle iron for the grille trim.http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/larryjohnson97438/album?.dir=8223&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/larryjohnson97438/my_photos -
actually this is a common tactic some women employ to raise cash as a preliminary to divorce proceedings or the wife has a hidden agenda on some personal purchases.

pinging or knocking...big difference. If you have an ohm meter check your resistance out on the spark plug wires..one of them maybe bad causingognition pinging.......knocking may be the beginning at those RPM's of a rod or main bearing going bad... you can use a medical type stethoscope to listen for metallic knocking ... you can drop the pan a use "plastic guage" to check rod and main bearing tolerances by loosening and removing bearing nuts and bolts and placing the plastic gauge strip on the bearing surface and re-tourqing to spec. and then removing nut to measure the width of the flattened plastic guage strip on the bearing surface.

A restraining order once in place is impossible to break and considred very serious by the courts and federal government...(guns and ammo)..and any good lawyer knows this that the order is usually futile to fight. The order violation should be fought.Your protection is to obtain an opposing restraining order on the other person to keep from getting hauled to jail everytime you look in that direction. I recieved a stalking order for attempting to collect past due rent on my rental next door to me (6 momths) from a welfare witch. I was in jail 17 days and missed the eviction hearing. When I got out of jail, I obtained a restrianing order on her and her moron son and evicted them by virtue of the restraining order.. The eviction proceedings became a sham due to the fact I was prevented from appearing in court by the Sheriff which was a constitutional violation of my due process rights...After being in and out of court...on domestic violence issues my opinion is that :About half the restrining and stalking orders are a joke. and your defense is to obtain one on the other person. I have absolutely no criminal record of violence or domestic abuse. I won a $269,000.00 court judgment each from the witch and her adult son but my chances of collecting are nil since neither has much of a work history ar any property except an extensive empty alcohol container collection..I imagine Moby that you are much like me. Look them in the eye and express your true feelings without much diplomacy. -

Is old fuel in gas tanks causing engine damage
Here comes trouble replied to Here comes trouble's topic in Fuel Delivery
Cannot mis-ignited old fuel in the cylinders invade the valves and guides causing disruption of their function with gum and varnish causing the lash pads to lose their perch from the valve stems. ..check this recent thread about engine damage....http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=102979 -
Advice on removing exhaust studs...
Here comes trouble replied to ASA240Z's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
double nut and WD 40 has worked for me.... since manifold torque is low @ 10 -13 ft-pds for 8mm studs and 25 -36 ft-pds for 10 mmn studs....why remove them and risk breakage unless a modification requires removal ?? Due to the low tourque requirement, I have found Datsun manifold studs very weak in comparison to other Datsun OEM bolts. I am getting very shy about removing these studs lately since it takes more tourqe to remove than they were designed to hold. -
I would like to get some input from members concerning engine damage from using the vehicle's old gasoline in the revived engines. There seems to be a commom thread in a few posts of members who revive an old Z engine after a couple years of non operation to later encounter engine damage. I refer to Mark/Wag Z and others who got an old Z running good after a couple years of non operation but quickly encounterd engine damage with the possible culprit being old gas varnish/gumming the valve train resulting in engine damage.. A wrecking yard operator has told me that the gasoline in the last few years is really foul as it ages and causes multiple engine problems if used. My 0ld Siver Z after years of faithful service now has fuel delivery problems after setting two years. I realze old gas can gum and varnish but is it now "derailing" the overhead cam valve train??????

LOL .. AUX.. I keep on forgetting that my Oregon Willamette Valley Z cars are rust free and can take the rough handling to the body parts.

Hoke.... great looking parts.. I will be looking for an old oven....been figuring my next tool purchase would be a blast cabinent. LOL This thread will save me time and money.... I will not paint any of the suspension parts for the GTO project and wait for the accumulation of the home powder coating tools. May take awhile since the wife has me on a short leash. should work especially with the coat hanger innovation. Years ago I burnt up an L20 engine with a straight pipe splice. When one end of pipe came loose..so much water was lost so fast that temp gauge didn't move... It was the smoke that got my attention... Later upon inspection.. the piston rings were blue but the block did not need boring but the head was warped.
