  1. I guess this seller on ebay uses A LOT of glue to make that one look brand-new. He sells them on ebay all the time too... use to be $19. Ill pass on yours though. But thanks for offering. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-240Z-FRONT-TURN-SIGNAL-LENS-RIGHT-NEW-ORIGINAL_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33717QQihZ014QQitemZ330308520479QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  2. send me pics and a price plz. I've seen them sell from $19 each to -$99 for a set brandnew.
  3. are u going to sell anything from the car. nice pick up btw.
  4. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=144537 come to cali. car will be strip to metal. as far as rust. there is bearly any rust and almost all the rust is workablel. no new sheet metal required.
  5. You can save the cost of weather stripping on the doors. Acura integra 94-2000 door weather stripping from a junk yard works super sweet and it's longer than a datsun's. You'd have to chop it up and fit it to your door, but other than that it's worked for me. Hope that saves you some scrilla.
  6. I bought some Tinmonk brackets about 2-3 years ago. You should try and test fit them now. I installed them about 1 year ago, and they didn't fit(bolt on smoothly). I had to use my dremel smoothen out the surface where it mounted, and had to dremel away at the bracket until it would fit. The transition on the mounting surface is curved, so that's the area i had to remove. I found this out, after removing my drum brakes, so there was no turning back. I have a 1975 280z, so I don't know if that makes any difference. But, i seem to be the only one with that problem. So maybe, it was defective pair? I didn't try to contact him since it was already over a few years that i had the brackets. Other than that, i got them to work. Goodluck with yours.
  7. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=121668&highlight=280zx+rear+calipers I think you have the 240sx calipers...if the above pics are of your calipers.
  8. Thanks for the comments guys. I haven't made the clear lens for the clock yet, but here is basically 99% of what you need to do to get the 280zx clock in your 280z (*not 240z). What you need: 280z Clock housing 280zx Digital Clock Dremel/Craftsman Rotary Tool This is all you need from the 280z Clock Assembly MINUS the clear lens (because of that center adjustment knob). First, I placed the 280zx clock on top of the 280z housing to see what areas i needed to cut off with my dremel tool. Then after the 280zx clock was cut to fit within the 280z ring, I redrilled two of the screw holes( on the left side) making sure that the holes went into the metal framing of the 280zx clock like so( you'll see the metal frame when taking the 280zx clock faceplate off): Then, using the 280z metal clock ring, I used it as a template to make this adapter plate out of aluminum bought from ebay using my dremel: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320315398721 Heres what the back looks like once mounted: I still need to screw on the 280z stock mounting bracket, and make the clear lens using one of the spare 280zx lenses(*note: you CANNOT use the 280zx digital clock clear lense since the holes are off because of the angle it was originally mounted) However you can take the lenses from the 280zx battery or fuel gauge lenses and redrill the two holes for the clock: As for wiring, i still have to figure that out. Maybe someone else can help me. Right now, i can get it to power on, but once i turn on my headlights, the clock resets. Let me know if the guide all makes sense. Hope someone else can use this.
  9. So here's the typical gun picture: And here is the acting goofy picture(me,wife, cousin):
  10. That looks like it's going to rub against your swaybar/bushings. I can check mine out tomorrow, but if you want a crack at it tonight, maybe these might help: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=123039&highlight=e-brake+rear+disc http://www2.zhome.com:81/ZCMnL/tech/Calipers/zbrakeupgrade.htm
  11. Yup, you got that right. Isn't the picture you posted from: http://www.zcarcreations.com/howto/rearbrake.htm So you would know that already right....but you gotta hear it from a hybridz member to make sure right? haha
  12. I just read about the same problem a few days ago. There are a few posts about this, do a search on L28et swap/turbo swap and you'll find tons of info on it. Some things i recall from past searches about the car running lean was because the afm was placed upside down. Try putting the afm the same way it was mounted in the ZX on the side. Here's a link about it. Hope it solves the problem somewhat. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=103142&highlight=afm+upside
  13. Out of all of the KCG items listed for the Z, i haven't seen anyone buy them. Not that they are not good products, but I've been waiting for someone to buy it first, so that i can ask them about the quality. From the other post, this part is ordered from a third party supplier, so that's why the shipping is so high. There was one guy who purchased the BRE looking CF spoiler, but never responded to my e-mail about the quality. Otherwise, the other products they sell seem to have good reviews. Maybe you can be the first? Let us know how it fits if you get it.
  14. Will do. Right when i complete the clear lens portion, ill take it apart, and snap pics of it. Basically, i just made a metal adapter plate, and hacked up the clock so that it would fit. Then i found a 280z clock in the JY(junkyard) and chopped off the plug and hooked it up to the digital 280zx clock.
  15. Just got this thing to fit in my 280z clock housing. Thought some of you might be interested in how it looks. Still need to make the clear plastic covering for the front though.
  16. Red/Blue Stripe- (+) positive dimmer Green/White Stripe- (-) dimmer i didn't plug it to anything Black-Ground Blue-12 volt IGN/ACC White- (+) Left rear speaker White/Black stripe-(-) Left rear speaker Remember that the old radios didn't have a need for memory, so you have to source it from your battery, or Cig lighter....I chose to source it from my CIG lighter. I got a yellow wire to go with the Standard colors of today, and spliced into the CIG lighter battery wire. This way, i don't have to install a fuse, because the fuse to CIG will just blow. My radio has been working without a problem. I'm not an expert with electrical, so if anything is wrong about the way i have it wired let me know.
  17. Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has purchased products from keycomposites group, and if so, how is their quality? I tried looking through their feedback but no luck on anyone buying their CF BRE wing or their CF Airdam. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-280Z-79-83-B-Road-Carbon-Fiber-Front-Lip_W0QQitemZ280275628192QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item280275628192&_trkparms=72%3A727|39%3A1|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245
  18. Good to hear you had a good experience with them. But just to inform other members thinking of using there services...something i found while searching about their products: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2784063 The guy in that thread wasn't so lucky....and he's not the only one....overall they have pretty mixed reviews. Other people recommend searching audi and vw forums for experience from other buyers. Good experience buying a kit from them, but getting a turbo rebuilt by them might be a different story.
  19. Anyone know where this body kit is sold? Is it even a body kit or maybe just a concept car? Because i would definitely want to get my hands on one of these kits. http://a15.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/8/l_42b6ecc6e2108fe10f7ceaf3322cabde.jpg http://a916.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/68/l_f9042f4088ed091323369a0ff28625bb.jpg http://a105.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/103/l_f9632ab734d3fabe56fd28d0582509f0.jpg http://a565.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/125/l_bd1fc2b6d79cad74da370964758840cc.jpg
  20. I know this is an old thread, but i've seen this question come up a million times, so hopefully people just find this information useful in a search. Correction to my prior post with the pic in it. Red w/ blue stripe= ?? no idea (tried testing with a test light, and it never got any type of power to it). Green w/white stripe = believe it is illumination (only gets power when the lightswitch is on) Blue= Ignition Acc/ Power (NOT antenna as i originally thought, but it is spliced and hooked up to the power antenna) Black=Ground White= +speaker left rear White w/ black stripe= -speaker left rear I originally tried to go by the standard colors of today's harnesses, but figured out quickly that it wouldn't work with 33 year old car. Also, remember that the radios back then didn't need memory for the radio stations, so there wont' be a wire for it in the stock harness.
  21. Since this thread is already up, i was hoping you guys could help me out and at the same time help others....here's a photo of the stock '75 280z radio harness that i obtained from the junk yard. I got this so that i could make a harness that just plugs into the existing harness preserving it. Only thing is, i'm not sure what each wire is for....this is what i'm assuming they are: Red w/ blue stripe= ignition/acc Green w/white stripe = battery/memory Blue= Antenna Black=Ground White= +speaker left rear White w/ black stripe= -speaker left rear Can anyone confirm this before i heat wrap the after market harness onto this stock harness?
  22. Hey Datsun350Z , not trying to be rude, but I think he mentioned that the possibly dumb/shady kid was his friend.... Or maybe, he might find out otherwise that this other kid wasn't a friend if the motors no good?? But WELCOME to the community BRO! Show us some PICS!!
  23. I put threw it down there because I figured i didn't need it anymore, since now i can breathe the fumes from the car. haha. Thanks for the comment.
  24. Hey Palau, i think i've seen yours. Is it the one on Oakgate Wy/Appearson? You might have seen mine, since i pushed my car for 3 miles down Quimby to Rigoletto to have my father in law help me fix it. Yeah, I know, i'm cheap. Didn't want to pay that $40 it was gonna cost me to tow it. I'm the asian guy that runs 6 miles around aborn to ruby to quimby to white every other day, so 3 miles of pushing downhill aint nothin. I'll see you around.
