  1. The shortening cost $135 at SouthBay Driveline. I called several shops around the bay area and $135 seems like the standard price nowadays. I was initially expecting about $60-80 since that was the qouted price in some old posts, but those prices are long gone. I dropped it off in the morning, and it was done by afternoon. I wish I lived in SoCal to get the same deal as TonyD. I could almost have had 3 shortened drive-shafts if I got the same deal. $50!? When did you get it done?
  2. Thanks for the input guys. The dust cap had to be removed because it would prevent the input shaft from going into the transmission. The 240z-280zx drive-shaft dust shield goes on/around the older transmission end. Whereas the 240sx driveshaft goes directly in with no gap, and that small extra cylinder space in the end of 240sx tranny is the dust shield. It does go in more than 50% so hopefully I'll be fine. Thanks again.
  3. So here's my question. I've read the AtlanticZ and the Motortopia (from Nigel)write up for the 240sx transmission swap into a 240z using the 240z-280zx manual transmission bell housing. I have a 1975 280z. The stock 280z FS5w71B transmission was 31". The 240sx FS5w71Ctransmission is 33". I also measured the transmission without the bell housing. 240z-280zx = 17inches. 240sx = 19 inches. I shorted the driveshaft 2" according to the write-ups. I went to a reputable driveshaft shop in San Jose- Southbay Driveline(They do an awesome job btw). They shortened it exactly 2 inches and removed the dust shield for me. But now there is a gap where the drive shaft connects to the transmission. Is this normal? Did I just not notice the gap because the dust shield covered it before?
  4. No longer needed. Bought one off of UltraRev on ebay.
  5. Looking for a Fidanza/ clutchmaster/ nismo aluminum flywheel. Please provide pics and asking price
  6. I'm in san jose, ca and have an MSA downpipe for sale for $80 if you are interested. Reason being is that MSA sold this one to me, after I mentioned to them that the weld effects how you can bolt it on to the turbo. They changed the welding, and welded 4 spots on the outside. And weld it on the inside of the flange as well. You can probably still find my ad somewhere.
  7. I've seen a few for less than that price running with no body damage. Keep looking, the bay area is full of Z's, and lately, the trend seems to be that people here are trying to rid themselves of these post smog cars.
  8. I'm looking for an early 240z-260z ebrake cable so that i can hook up my 280zx caliper rear disc brake conversion. Looking to pay $20 as i have a hold on one, but dude wants me to pull it off his unknown rust conditioned Z.
  9. I have a set of tail lights from a 280zx 1982. $50 shipped to your door if you are anywhere in the 50 states. Private message me, or e-mail at s u p a v u @ h o t m a i l. c o m. I prefer paypal as the method of payment. Also, you should have posted this in the parts wanted section. See if an admin will swap it over there for yah.
  10. You can get them for $80 for both from ezaccessory. Cost $160 for all 4. I sold mine a while back for $100 for all 4.
  11. That's cool, but I need the height. If i drop it too low, my wheels are probably going to rub. I have 16X8 rota RBR's.
  12. Anyone have these? 280z eibach springs for a 280z? Please let me know how much you want for them. thx.
  13. Good to know you got your car back. I'm in San Jose too, but my car is always parked on the driveway so hopefully that deters any retard from stealing it. For the other person who mentioned finger printing the car, it's pointless unless the police officer taking the report did so at the time of the report. The Z does have some good spots for taking prints, but it's probably all smeared or tampered with by now. Most officers from my experience are too lazy to take prints from cars because they think it's a waste of time....that and they don't want the powder getting all over the place...stuff really is a pain in the ass because it gets all over your hands and uniform.
  14. Looking for the complete unit. 280zx early 81 complete brake booster & master cylinder. Let me know how much you want for it. Thanks.
  15. Well, i know it's sorta late, but i finally got around to wiring up the digital clock. 280zx clock: Blue/white strip: is for battery power Black: Ground Green /white stripe: Illumination Blue/Red stripe: ACC (accessory power when key is turned to acc) 280z Clock: Blue: Battery power Red/blue stripe: only comes on when headlight switch is turned on Green/white stripe:only comes on when headlight switch is turned on Black: Ground I cut off the female plug on the old 280z clock and connected it to my 280zx clock wiring. I sourced an ACC wire from under the dash, and only connected the battery power and the ground wires in the old 280z clock harness. The other 2 wires (red/blue stripe, and green/white stripe) i didn't use because those wires went into the light bulb on the old 280z clock. Hope this helps anyone else trying to do the same thing.
  16. I installed acura integra weather strips (94-2001 integs) in my Z. My doors close fine, just fyi if you can't find the KIA type.
  17. If you're still looking for a set, i have a pair off of my 280zx 1982 turbo. They are fiberglass/plastic whatever you want to call it. Both in great shape, with the headlight washer sprayer still in them. Let me know, if you're interested, and if you need the headlight washer sprayers. Since another member on here wants to buy the sprayers. -Tuan $20+$15 shipping for both.
  18. My pm keeps messing up, and I can only pm once every 30 minutes.

Anyways, I went ahead and got a mirror elsewhere. Thanks anyways!

  19. I have a stock Turbo out of a 280zx. It has had the waste gate actuator removed...So you'll need a blow off valve somewhere in your piping. Very little shaftplay in any direction, and fan spins freely. If you want, i can send i video msg with details to your e-mail if you can watch quicktime format. $100 shipped. It's a spare that i no longer need, hence the cheap price.
  20. i 2 intercoolers from a starion. Either one of your choice for $60 shipped. both outlets face the same direction. It'll cost about $20 to ship.
  21. That's cool. Sold to Borini.
  22. I have an antenna off of my 280zx 1982 2+2 if you want that. $30 plus $8 shipping. I can include the grommets, and whatever else you need. If i don't hear back from you by tomorrow around 12ish, it will be sold to another member on here.
  23. The head gasket will run you $30 at kragen. Fel Pro Head Gasket Part Number: 8799PT I have a new one for $15 plus shipping if you want it (NOT felpro and i don't know the brand). It's made of a foil like material, unlike the paper felpro ones. Anyway, it'll probably cost almost the same if you just bought it at your Kragen. Shipping usually runs $8-$10. The dealership charges $80 for a nissan head gasket. Hope that helps.
  24. I only posted it, because i just saw a set sell for $60 on HYBRID!! And missed out! Besides that, price is dependant on supply/demand and if ebay is any type of indicator of market conditions, there is plenty supply and no demand at the price being asked. This would lead me to believe that the price of these bolts is beyond what any other "buyer" is willing to pay. Hence, they should be cheaper. Plenty of people are giving up on there projects, and have purchased parts they would never use. Therefore, they're letting go of their useless(to them) inventory for dirt cheap. Just trying to score a deal on a set, cmon y'all don't be haters.
