  1. Tim, Whats the best way to "burp " your cooling system??
  2. Is your car lowered?? My front tires are 24.7 tall and I think it looks just right. It is lowered 1" in the front. The 45's will help fill the wheel well so that you dont look like you have a bunch of air space over your tires.
  3. How much was it for the fabbed up plates??
  4. Phuc, Bring it over . I have a timing light . Most small high perf small blocks chevys like between 34 to 38 deg total.
  5. Sounds fine. I have to go and do some things till about 3 or 4ish. But after that we can play with it . Give me a ring. Home 209 952 7680 cell 209 609 4133
  6. Phuc, Good to hear you still have your Z. Give me a ring and we can try my carb on it to see if its really your problem.
  7. Foster, You going the turbo route instead of your current v8??
  8. The car used to run between 190 and 200 . When I wired the fan to the key it ran the same in town but would climb to near 230 on the highway. If it run s between 190 and 200 I will live with it. I just feel so much better with it at 180!
  9. Yeah, I just have the standard autozone long style pump. I will keep you guys posted .
  10. Well I went out an re hooked it back to the thermo switch. I figured that if I ran the fan all the time I might be able to keep the car at 180 or so all the time. But I am thinking that the fan on all the time at freeway speeds is killing flow. Its raining out now so will give it a try on the highway tomarrow. I did notice now that the lower hose gets warm were as with the fan hooked up all the time it did not?? Also I am using distilled water and coolant. About a 75/25 ratio water to coolant.
  11. I was thinking the same thing . Maybe that with the fan on it is acting like a wall and not letting the air though the radiator. I will wire it back to the thermo switch and see what it does I guess...
  12. Hmm............This blows! The rediator is new so it should not have any blockage anywhere!
  13. My main questions is shouldnt the lower hose be just as hot as the upper hose?
  14. Tim are you playin?? 180 !!!!!!!!!
  15. I am lost as well?? I just let the car run for a while at idle . It to about 15 or so mins to get up to 190. The thing is that the lower hose is barely warm and the top hose is HOT! Shouldnt the lower hose be just as hot?? Its like its not getting any circulation or something? Also the water pump is new as well??
  16. Fan is going the right direction and the lower hose has a spring in it. Whats also odd is the tank on the drivers side is much hotter than the passenger side. The same thing goes for the hoses. The top hose is much hotter than the bottom hose???
  17. What do you guys make of this. I am running the Tarus fan with the Camaro Rad.The Radiator is new. The Fan is wired on high and I am also using a relay . On the highway the car runs hotter than when in traffic? I used to have the car wired to a thermo switch and it seemed to run cooler then when the fan going all the time?? Whats the deal?
  18. scuba, I have yet to run my car. Still needs a few details. My short block is used from a buddy and I am thinking it needs to be freshened up. Here is the specs. 70 240z 350 sbc AFR 195's 1.5 comp rollers about 10 to 1 286/490 comp hyd cam air gap intake 650 DP 1 5/8 block huggers 2.5 dual with x pipe 700r4 with 3000 stall 3.54 open rear 235/60/15 BFG drags Hopeing for low 12's???
  19. They are pretty much the exact same carb! Go for the cheaper of the two.
  20. Cool pics guys and Don I like all of your cars! You Z gives me nightmares at night cause its so fast!!!!!!!!
  21. zfan, I think your heads are fine man. Just get your combo dialed in. Get the A/F ratio to around 13.5 to 1 at WOT throttle and your #'s will pick up. Also I would go with an CSI water pump and a CSI 1"or 1.5" carb spacer. With all of those things I think you could pick up an easy 25 o 30 rwhp! Then if thats not enough pull a small 75 to 100 shot on it and its a real terror! Plus from what it sounded like you have yet to get any traction with those 2.1 60 foot times. Pick up some 235/60/15 BFG drag radials and air them down to about 18 psi or so. You should see some easy 1.8's or lower. I think you have a pretty sweet combo just tweek it a bit!!
