2485 without the new cage.

I ordered the 17x8 Hammers the other day. The aztecs were not available the other day? The just keep comiing up with new wheels? Are there any other wheels available besides the ones listed?? I didnt talk to Nicole and the dude was in a hurry.

I pulled the motor/tranny out to put in the new stall converter . Since I had the motor out I figured I would stop a few of the leaks and put fresh gaskets on. Well, when I pulled the intake mainfold off there was a few pockets of foamy oil. I smelled the fuild and it didnt smell like coolant to me . Then I pulled the valve covers off and there is whiteish brown foam all over the tops of the valve covers? Then I drained the oil and nothing looked like coolant? Do you think maybe I have a head gaskets that is weeping ? Anyone have any ideas???

After working at a 4x4 shop for years I have found that hitting the front of the steering knuckle with a dead blow hammer works the best. This way does no damage to the tie rod assembly if you need to reuse them. Also spray some penitrating oil on the rod ends and let it sit overnite if possible.

Nice numbers! That sucker must be a rocket if it hooks! Can yoo give us breakdown of your motor? Cam/comp ratio/headers/exhaust/carb/etc??? tranny type?

My dad is running the Fast Burn 385 crate motor in his 75 280z. Nice motor!

I just pulled my motor/tranny to change the converter and oil pan. Can I do a comp test with the motor on the stand? I still have the starer on it and figured I could jump the starter? Anyone do this and how?

So do you think they would fit with say a 275 wide tire??

I was just looking at that car earlier and fell in love with it. It has that "street brawler" look to it. Those are MSA street flairs right??? Those slicks look pretty wide as well!

I like both flairs but I think that the street flairs let the people from the rear goggle at the meats under the car! It looks to me that the imsa and the street flairs stick out about the same but the imsa has the mud type guards?

Would this set up clear? I know it would be close? Anyone running it???

I think NOSZCAR has one on his old Z. Look on some drag race sites. Most drag Z's run that hood. They look sweet if you are going for the drag look.

Those look like MSA sreet flares that where bonded on . Most people glass them in for a smoother look but I think that looks BAD ASS! The cost 109 bucks a pair. So about 220 for the whole set.

Jason, Are you still 4 lug? If you were going for centerlines they wont make any wheels wider than 8" if its 4 lug? Keep me posted.

Jason , What wheels are you going to go with? Your measurements seem just about what I had figured on if I went 17's(still might). For steering issues you could always go with 17x7 in front with no flairs and 4" bs. Then run the rear flairs with the 9.5's. You going with 235 front and 275 rear??? Man its going to look sweet!

Yeah, The street flairs look nice. If I went to 17's I was going to go with 17x10's in the rear with 17x7's up front with no flairs. I have seen the imsa flairs bolted on and they look pretty cool as well. Since I am going with the 3000 stall and spray I am gonna need the tall sidewall for the hook. As we all know on the street and track the race is usually won on the start! Good luck with your z and send me some pics when its done!

The cam they are talking about is the comp cam extreme energy 274. It is 274/286 and 487/490. At .050 is 230/236. The rpm range according to comp cams is 1800 to 6000 rpm. Recommended stall is 2200 rpm. Good luck!

Jason, I still have the convo pros and am going to keep them. I have gone through so many ideas on how I want the Z to look. From flaires with 17's, 17''s with no flaires, and the look I have now. I am now coming to the conclusion that I am going to stay with the look I have now. The main thing I want to do with this car is wax local vettes,vipers and Porches from stoplights and run fun nights at the local dragstripe. I want the car to 60 foot hard on the street and with 17's and 40 series tires it not going to happen! I thought about running the 17's around town but thats when you will meet at stoplight with your local Viper ! So I am staying with the 235/60/15 BFG drags and convo pros! But with the way I am I may change my mind by next week!

Sorry Jason the 17x8's wont work. Best you can get is 17x7's with 4" bs. I am running 17x7.5 in the rear with coilovers and it is still tight .
