  1. Since I sold my 240 I have not been on the board very much. Been working hard on the getting the 69 Camaro up and done. My dad's fastburn 385 280z is up and running strong though. We plan to go to the rio vista meet next year with both cars. Anyway I miss this site but if I get on here much I will end up buying another z.....

  3. Heavy, Your problem is the cam. With 10.5 to 1 comp ratio and the small 268 cam you have way to much cylinder pressure. Too use that kind of compression on pump gas you will need to run at least the 274 extreme or the 280 or 286 magnum cam. Alot of guys are running into this problem. Give comp cams a call and I am sure they will tell you the same thing. That cam is a great cam but it only likes maybe 9.5 to 9.75 comp on pump gas with aluminum heads. With steel heads up to 9.5 MAX!
  4. Anyone have any experience with a 700r4 put behind something with 500hp and 500tq?? I am currently building a stout little 406 that should put these numbers down. The motor will be going into a 69 Camaro. I currently have a TPI 700 and just dont have a good feeling that this tranny will live behind this kind of torque. I plan to go to the strip maybe once per month and will be on ET street tires. Or should sell the 700r4 and build the Th350 stout and cheap. I know lots of guys running tons of power behind the 350 but not the 700.
  5. You need an 6.75 inch balancer or smaller to clear the rack.

  8. It whines pretty good from inside the car. Sweet ride.

  10. I am running some Spintech prostreets on my Z. Dual 2.5 into an magnaflow x pipe. Sounds pretty wicked....

  12. Are there any drawbacks to these over 4 lug to 4 lug adaptors? Balance issues?? Seems like only a few places make them?? Any reason??

  14. Its a tough choice to decide what to do. My motor runs great its just you know the "great deal " thing you feel like you have to do! I finally have the money to get my car painted and now I am tripping on this motor deal. I will mull it over and decide what to do.....
  15. I have a friend that is selling a bad ass 406 and wondering what you guys thought about this idea I have..... First off specs on the 406 2 bolt 400 block Fully ported Brodix 215 cc heads Ported brodix intake 2.08/1.60 valve 1.5/1.6 roller rockers 10.7 comp ratio 850 demon carb Forged steel Eagle crank 6 inch h beam rods 7/16 arp bolts gear drive solid cam 246/525 moroso oil pan complete from carb to pan Also comes with Th400 auto/fully man valvebody and TCI 3500 stall He said he has less 1k miles on it and he thinks its just too much motor for him. Hear is the deal he told me he would let me have the whole thing for 3500 bucks with the tranny! I then figured I could sell my motor and sell it with the TH400 for say 3000. Then I would have 500 bucks into the swap!! What do you think??
  16. The 245's will have a slightly strethed look but not much. Go with 235's if you want the stretched look.
  17. Stony, when your car squats down does it tuck in or will hit the flair?? I want he tire to come to the edge but just tuck in .
  18. I would go for the 335/35/17's if it were me. You get the widest tire and right height . Thing is gonna look sick.....
  19. How do you think traction will differ from these two set ups?? I know the 60 series has the sidewall flex advantage but the 315's have the contact advantage. Do you think the 315 Nitto DR's would hook hard out of the hole?? My suspension set up is geared towards drag racing but I am digging the road race or pro touring type look and still want the car to be able to hook up on launch.

  21. zfan, How bout a CSI carb spacer and electric water pump? Should be good for 20 hp or so. Maybe a little blue bottle??
  22. Looks tough but the only thing I dont like about those flairs is how abrupt they come of the body. Not enough transtion. For those that dont about Z cars , I could see them asking" why did you put on those Kragen fender flairs??"
