  1. I've almost got everything back already, I'm going on the positive side very soon. I'm hoping it pays for my recent datsun purchase too. The car had 53k miles on it and was in VERY good shape and the local F-Body guys have been paying a premium for the parts because they know they can get cherry parts then sell thiers on ebay and make most of the money back.
  2. Parting the Donor Car before the Z can even make a home in the garage.
  3. Dont put a carb on an LS1. The whole point of a LS1 swap over the SBC swap is the modern performance, modern technology, and the modern efficency of a V8 engine designed for 3500lbs in a 2700lb car. If you want a carb put in a 350 4 bolt main with a good set of heads and a big lopey cam that gets 8mpg and you can change 2 things on the tune. strictly my opinion
  4. Thats what I did. Ive still got the car in my garage and everyday that I sell a part from it the cost of my swap goes down.
  5. Here is one here in Orlando if anyone is interested. Comes with some nice parts. LS1 + t56 - $3850 80k miles, ls6 cam, asp pulley, spec 3 clutch (~1000 miles no chatter), rebuilt tranny by Zeigler Transmission (~1000 miles) comes with 1 yr or 12000 mile warranty. This includes EVERYTHING you need to run this setup - all 3 wiring harnesses, starter, stock shifter, accessories, etc. If anyone is interested. I'll get in contact with the guy and take a look at it. ----- I am not affiliated with the seller ------ I have seen what others are paying for thier pullouts. And I thought I would pass on a good deal since I already have mine.
  6. I have one sort of like that its a Maxstar 200DX from Miller. Very nice setup. 200amp DC Tig Inverter it doesnt have AC so no aluinium but it has a pulser and can sense any power input from 110v all the way to 3phase. I love it. Its worth the investment mine has paid for itself time and time again.
  7. Not all distributerless ignitions need a tach adapter. You just need to find an acurate tach signal. But I dont know if the RB has one that will work.
  8. What are you going to mill down the piston tops? I would think of just using some different pistons - Forged would be nice. Most the time when you go with boost the piston has a dish not physically shorter. 9:1 / 10:1 - is fine as long as the tune is on and you dont get too radical with the boost - 6-8 lbs of intercooled boost is about right on 10:1 Lower compression doesnt not equal more effiecent forced induction - Its all relative to a dynamic compression ratio. Boost + Compression = Max Compression Ratio using a certain octane of gas. Is this going to be a blow-through carb or a EFI ?
  9. God thats alot of money Sorry I didnt mean to brag. I got real lucky on a couple dealings.
  10. She doesnt get too bored, she even helps me wrench sometimes and goes to the track. But I'll leave her home, for it being the first time meeting some of you guys anyway.
  11. My Schedule is open. Kind of takes away from wrenching time but thats ok. Should be bring wives / g/fs or leave them at home.
  12. Yeah thats a radiator core. The tubes are nowhere near thick enough and don't have any internal cooling fins to pick up the heat. I wouldnt really worry about the inlet and outlet size. Alot of people do it that way. On the thinking that cool air is more dense and larger tube will pack more dense air in before the T/B and pick up power. Can't say if it really works or not strickly theory.
  13. That doesnt seem to be a valid address. Unfortunetly I used to live in that area about 18months ago or so. I'm going to call some friends to see if they even know if anyone has that engine. Start from the other side of the Story. I do know one guy that had a Z he was fixing up and supposedly got a unaseembled RB motor from someone that he was going to put in his Z. Where did you get money stolen from ? here on the site or ebay? The guy I'm thinking of was a member of this site.
  14. I know some people in that area. It's just north of indianapolis. If you can tell me a little more I might be able to help track them down.
  15. I have a 98 T/A donor car in my garage right now that I am stripping to use for the datsun swap ( once I get a suitable chassis ). And I want to make sure I don't sell or throw away something that I need. Any Odds and Ends that some of you know about that have done the swap that you know you need. Thanks Andy
  16. That way you can spend 20k Instead of 6-8k to do it yourself - Car not included
  17. You can also find these cars in the UK - But they are Austrailian Spec.
  18. How wide is the Caddy 472/500. That thing sure seems like a biggg engine.
