  1. I work for SCT - Superchips Custom Tuning - http://www.sctflash.com We are the only ones tuning the GTs right now. Noone is really pushing the limits with them just yet. Just a 2.7 pulley, Headers, Muffler and a Tune. One of our Dealers in Dallas is working on putting a 3.3 liter Whipple Supercharger on One. Probably going to need to upgrade all 16 injectors. (haha)
  2. We get to mod them at work. Truely Awesome Cars - 650whp with basic bolt-ons Already needing a clutch within 5k miles ( The good and Bad of a Sports Car )
  3. Jelous of the Beauty Keep it up Mike - Let me know if you need any help wrenching.
  4. LG Motorsports did AFR Heads - G5X3 Cam and basic bolt-ons and got 500whp why have to increase displacement? http://www.lgmracing.com/clarkszo6.wmv
  5. A guy a couple posts above mine said the same as me. I should of read the whole post, hahah
  6. Trade the TIG for sure - Especially if its an even trade. When you get good with a TIG there really is not reason to have a MIG. When I use a TIG all the time then use a MIG Im extremely frustraded with the lack of control and quality. Its kind of sloppy Id say. Personal Opinion of Course.
  7. I'm pretty sure that turbo is just sitting there on the frame-rail. If you think about it how is the exhaust going to exit right into the frame-rail. Looks like a single plane carb intake coverted to Fuel Injection - Probably going to put a 90 degree elbow on it and run a normal 90mm TB just like alot of high hp cars do. Andy
  8. Maybe you need a cam change ive seen 400-420 whp with a cam only car. Is that too much cam than you are wanting or ? Andy
  9. so you are saying even after CNC porting ( You say you used 98 cores ) they still couldn't flow enough? Also 5.3 and 6.0 heads are the same base casting of the ls6 heads with different size combustion chambers. How are the ports that much off between a 98/01 head? Andy
  10. those are the cars i learned on. They say with a DSM if you arent a mechanic yet you will become one. After owning one for 4 years. I know wayyyy too much about DSMs now.
  11. hmm.. I hope the plastic tanks have different fuel filler necks that are removeable. My 98 Tank is metal and you cant remove the neck. Hope the guy didnt just cut it off to make the tank come out easier. Do you guys really suggest this? Is it that much easier than using a 280z tank? You do have to cut the whole rear hatch up correct. Sorry if thats a newbie question. Andy
  12. Yes you can get a police scanner and listen to the cops if you have access to the right frequencys
  13. Man that is tempting. I need to get this LS1 in the car so that I'm not soo tempted to sell it. I have a 50kmile LS1/6Speed Combo with EVERY Stock part of a F-Body that you would need. Make an Offer and I could consider Selling It. Andy
  14. I think it has to be 1/8th Inch Plate and has to be a minimum of 6" X 6" square or 8" x 8" square.
  15. Not any RB'ers but there are many hybrid guys that are around. 2JZ Couple SBC Swaps Buick Stage MotorSwap ( in progress ) LS1 Swap ( in progress ) theres more that ive forgot / don't know about I'm a newbie myself.
  16. I've noticed here that there are alot of really long projects on this board. I'm starting my hybrid project and I was wondering some of your opinions. Do you have any regrets of taking years and years to get a project finished. Quick and get the goal at hand finished. or Do EVERYTHING perfect to follow towards the end goal. I'm in the start of a LS1/T56 - 280Z swap and am debating what all I am going to tackle in this first wave of mods. The Angel on my shoulder says get it in and get it running and start from there. The Devil on the other shoulder says get it in, get the turbo on, get the R230 in, get the coilovers on, get the disc brakes all the way around, get the coilovers on all 4 corners, get large wheels and fender flares all the way around. Now is the time to choose what are your opinons?
  17. If anyone is interested. * secret stuff revieled * The company I work for has just made it available to adapt a 4" Ford Maf to a Chevy Computer. If you wanted to tune with the MAF still I might be able to send you a prototype to try out. Sounds like this would be the perfect spot for it. Andy
  18. Mike whichever wheels you are getting rid of let me know. I havent seen a bad set of wheels on your car yet. Andy
  19. Any F-body Oilpan will work fine. Also I would look at a Corvette LS1 or LS6 intake they dont have the EGR ports integrated into the manifold. It'll be interesting if you do use the stock intake though that thing is huge.
  20. EVO - Better aftermarket support and easier to work with the ECU if you upgrade.
  21. Also after you get a stock style computer running you can always look at a custom burnt chip setup for your exact combo. 74 5.0L Z - If you ever go to a big cam with heads or anything like that I can deffinetly help you out with some ECU Tuning.
