  1. Just as an update touch wood no ! I traced the wires required tonight and they all seemed to be there in the single smaller plug Result
  2. I have what I thought was this R33 RB25DET engine loom from a 94 skyline series1 I expected the loom to have 3 master plugs and the twin relay block as shown in the beginning of the thread? Where as mine above only has 2 and the twin relay block ? I can see 6 or so of the ecu wires may have been looped (approx 5" back from the main ecu plug) but I don't think that's where the missing plug went? Will it make any odds?
  3. Looking at buying a rad for mine aswell This looks a bargain as it says it includes the fans Apart from it not haveing the top hose on the other side for an RB it looks the part to me Any reason why not ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-Row-Aluminum-1974-75-Datsun-260z-Radiator-Fans-CC110_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZQ7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a30QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em14Q2el1262QQhashZitem2ea5a15933QQitemZ200347310387QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories My cars a later 1978 uk spec 260z, but I take it those rads will still fit ok? ta
  4. Tbh that looks to be the answer I’ve dropped the box out again now so a few cm out of the tunnels brace should see things clear ok inc the box switch that also hit’s the tunnel strengthen brace lol Many thanks
  5. Can someone please confirm if the differential drive flange from a R33 skyline (short nose, R230 I believe) is a straight fit to a long nose R200 diff unit as fitted to a uk spec 78 260z, aka same as a 280z I believe Also are they the same installed length or does the propshaft need shortening to use it? Assuming it even fits? Cheers
  6. Mine is a UK spec 260z which had ears (same model as your later 280z I believe) Few pics to show how much room I have left After speeking to someone about what speedo head to use I'm now thinking of retaining the elec speedo drive and running an elec speedo head to suit. Looking at the amount the drive sticks out there will be even less room I think when I drop the box out again I'll take off what was left of the o/s mount plate from where the ears were cut from
  7. Thats cool Cheers for the help
  8. Many thanks Looks about the same for room as mine? Am using a Mckinney mount kit Not having a cable type speedo drive to try I'm wondering how easy the cable will fit? Anyone got pics of the cable and drive fitted in the tunnel?
  9. Has anyone got pictures of their install that show how much room is available in the transmission tunnel (either side of the box) after fitting an RB25DET manual gearbox? I've just finished fitting mine to a 1978 260z and its looking mighty tight? Especially to use a speedo drive I should add I've cut the "ears" off flush, but left their base plate still attached.
  10. Great seeing all those pics ! Deffo some excellent ideas can be had from them
  11. Meant for an S13/14 then, cheers now I know what to look out for.
  12. Excellent, many thanks !! Always handy to see how things can be worked out
  13. I take it that intercooler (and others shown below) are just std alloy aftermarket coolers meant for the R33/34 skyline ?
  14. Both look good bits of handy work ! Any more pics of that engine bay ?
  15. Not tried as I don't have one, but I take it the stock Skyline rads dont fit? Too big?
  16. Got my engine mount kit a few days ago. 1st thing I've ever ordered from the U. S of A Not tried fitting the mounts yet, but the work gone into them looks good !
  17. I fitted my own version of eps to my 1978 260z using a Vauxhall Corsa power column. Not perfect but still works ok for what it cost me I can adjust how much assistance it gives from none to full ie turn it from lock to lock on the spot with 1 finger or 2 arms lol Control box n ecu live tucked up under the dash area Not obvious but thats how I like it. Still needs fettling to get the "feel" right but its in and working
  18. .......... and supplied the o/e Z31 RB20DET sumps (oil pan + pickup) Could get all the bits under 1 roof that way !
  19. Which is what I want to do, but I didn't know the filter could be screwed direct to the block? I assumed you must use an adaptor as shown in the 1st pic? Ultimately I just wanted to tidy up under the manifold area, so do away with the water pipes and onboard cooler and run a exterior front mount oil cooler.
  20. Cheers for the pointers Chevyv8 These are well over £18 mind. Delivered is $620 which is about £350 + whatever tax I will have to pay our end? I’m going for a straight 6 2.5 RB25DET engine + box from a 94 skyline. Maybe meet up at Santa Pod one day lol If its ever finished
  21. I ordered that 260z engine mount kit (Type 3) last week, so will let you know when it turns up here in the uk. Was told at 1st the kit isn't suitable for our rhd cars, but they now say it is so I ordered it. Will soon see If it all fits well I may well be back for a few more of their conversion bitties, dep on import duty
  22. Many thanks for the advice and pointers I can search for the part by name now Cheers
  23. I found this pic on here Can someone who recognises the remote alloy oil filter takeoff tell us who make them? Are they still available and do they allow for the oe sender switch to still fit Cheers http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/stony7/Z%20pics%20update%203%20feb%202007/DSC01635.jpg
  24. Z240, Cheers for the link and info I did find mention of a Patrol sump, but was suggested the sump bowl is to deep and would need modding? So tbh after reading various posts for the last few days I think a pukka Z31 200zr sump will be the better “bolt on†option. Looking at the links on here of a few dealer sites over in the States that sump seems readily available? Is that the case as over in the UK the Nissan dealers tell me it’s a min of a 3 week wait from Japan and the pickup is no longer available ?? Zdrifter, can I ask what tail flange/ joint you are using for your propshaft? Is it skyline or a Zed uj ? Cheers Wyn
