Ok well guess I got excited. Please let the mods know that it's already been covered and needs to be taken down.

I have already posted this in another topic but being from CA I see this as a pretty big deal and feel that this needs a topic of its own. So read what's posted in the link, give your feed back and write. Make a difference and save our rusty old diamonds in the rough. http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2012/03/22/california-bill-may-exempt-pre-1981-cars-from-smog-testing/ Breaking news to all you CA owners CA senators are getting together to vote on a new bill to extend the no biannual smog check for cars/truck 1981 and older. Please read the link above and support the cause. Write to these senators and show that we are decent men/women that love are cars, and that we are good resposible people of the car culture. People around the world love the Fairlady and we in CA have some of the greatest ones still on the road. Let's just make sure we keep them legal!

Ah dangit I didn't notice the last time posted. I was just saying that the military would have required the person to pass emissions in order to register POV on post.
-
Actually Tony yea i know this first hand, i had a soilder that drove his car from FL to WA. Even though his car had FL plates the US Army still had him comply to WA standards, prior to registering his car on post. His car failed cause he didnt have a CAT, it was only a few months away to being "exempt" or that rolling rule in WA. Cars 25yrs or older are not required to get smogged. Anyways yes the army does require its soilders cars to pass smog emissions, but the state does not. I was able to register my car through WA stating that my car was in CA im still in the Army and with a legal WA lisence. I do have a few family members homes in OR that i can use, so I will probably being doing that thing until i figure something else out. TADA! Please find a hole in my logic so that i can prep for yet another prob.

Ok little side note been busy i did pick up the the new turbo and 3" exhaust. Now working on buying the z32 Transmission. Waiting on buying the LSD or other suspension parts.

Oh thanks for the correction.

Try ZCCJDM.com they are 350$. Or http://www.klearz.com/datsun.html You can buy a set of amber lenses for 115$

S30 all the way, with a TC24-B1Z, I'd stray away from the carbs and go with a ITB EFI turbo. Custom intake, exhaust. Try to go with all JDM details here and there. G-nose front, 15x9 on the front, and 15x10 to the rear, ZG fender flares. HAYASHI Streets. White on black color scheme. I'd go with a RB25 trans, coilovers, AZC LCA, tension, and diff reinforcement. 6 point cage, zccjdm seat.

New info on the New TC24-B1Z http://speedhunters.com/archive/2012/02/28/event-gt-gt-nostalgic-2-days-pt-2.aspx It was then on to the OS Giken booth...and this is where you will have to bear with me as I have to nerd out big time now. What you see here is a complete L28-based engine that OS Giken will be offering from sometime this year. Based on the old TC24-B1 motor, now renamed TC24-B1Z, it uses an L28 block bored out to 89 mm and a lengthened 86 mm stroke thanks to the fully counter balanced forged crank and H-section connecting rods which boost capacity to 3,208 cc. Up top is a completely revised TC24 twin cam 24-valve head. Other cool details include a cam gear timing conversion, which eliminates the L28's chain drive. In fact OS Giken was working on a similar limited edition gear conversion for the Nissan S20 engine a few years back when I dropped by their factory. If you recall I posted a few pictures of it here, as you can see there are no chains to be seen! This conversion eliminates the slack chain-based timing systems have, not to mention the potential for failure which becomes very important if you consider that this L28 engine here revs to 10,000 rpm, 1,000 rpm up from the old engine which was built in 1980. Compression ratio is up from 11:1 to 11.5:1. This display unit was running big Weber carbs with carbon fiber funnels, but sports injection can also be offered. And on to the numbers, this monster kicks out, 420HP at 9,000 rpm and 289 lb/ft of torque at 8,000 rpm. Fit this to an S30, Hakosuka or a KenMary and you have yourself nothing short of JDM vintage perfection! They have better pics and far more info. But you heard it first from Kali on HybridZ.org

So sorry about that guy. I know how you feel. I didn't have my S30 for more than a month and I got hit on the driver side. Most of the damage was done to the door, and rocker couldn't even get it open. The front quarter, and a the rear fender were hit pretty bad too. I called a Z specialist in the area(Tacoma, WA) asked if they could recommend a place, turned out there wasn't any frame damage. So they took the time sought out the parts, brand new rocker! The door they found at a junk yard took the time to find one with minimal rust. Banged out the fenders and blended the paint. Cost me $2500. yeah it was a pretty penny but it got my Kali looking just as good if not better. Hope you can try to get her fixed, if not find a decent replacement.

Ah that explains why it was LHD, interesting to know.

Went to the NOS 2Day as they call it out here in Japan. Just figure you would like to see some pics. Sorry about the quality just had the point and shoot this time.
-
So i went to the Nostalgic Hero Car Show, also known as NOS 2Day. Walked in an i was just drawn to this new engine from OS Giken. They didnt have a MSRP posted nor did any of the guys that worked for OSG speak english, but i took some pics and here they are.

Hey ECUAdam are you using a rear disk break conversion and which brand? What mods do you plan to use to make it work?
-
I think a lot of my co-workers , family and friends would prefer for me to have a coke habit. At least I would shut up about my car. Sorry to hear about you selling your Z there, hope you find a good home for her.

Nice catch!!! Nice video too, thanx for sharing.

Ok s30kid before the guys on hear start ripping you a new one for not reading the rules I'm gonna let you know nicely. 1. Read the megatune manual I know it's confusing as hell, trust me I've been there. 2. Read the EMS mega squirt threads, all of them!!! No not really but it helps sometimes to know more than just your car 3. Know that it's not going to be soon. Really there's always tuning and more tuning, unless your running a stock setup then there is no need for the MS(megasquirt) Don't take this as mean or anything, I'm trying to be nice about this. Hell I've typed this from my iPhone. Just take this as a learning expierence and move on. Don't post a thread without the specifics listed, if you don't know them read, read, read. Thanks for owning a S30 and have a nice day

Nice work luseboy freaking on top with that stuff! I was just a tad lazy trying to find the refferance but you nailed it. Oh by the way Soup I suggest if you don't want a serious stretch don't go with the 195. Think that width is more set to fit a 7.5" wheel while the 205 it will still stretch but the 205 is more suited to fit a 8" wheel. This is where I'm getting my assumptions from, that and what I've read on here. http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

What can I do to prevent an insurance from totaling out my custom 260z?
Kali replied to rayaapp2's topic in Non Tech Board
Ok I haven't lived in CA for 8 yrs... But I thought that the CA smog laws made cars 75 and earlier smog exempt? -
Hey Soup I already bought mine havent had the chance to mount them yet being that I'm in Japan and my 280z in CA. I have the 15x9 -15 all around. The plan is s13 megan coilovers(already purchased) ZG fender flares, with 5mm spacer on the front and 10-15mm spacer on the rear for fitment of the Silver Mine Rear Disk conversion, with a slight grind to the top of the capiler for some spacing issues. Going for a -3 to -5 degree camber for rear and -1 to -3 for the front camber. Tire size is the same with 205/50/15. Without the spacers I should have approx 4.5" of back space. Granted theres only a certain amount reading you can do until you actually mount the wheels find out that they might not fit without some mods, at that point you just move on and make'em fit. Think of it this way, if you like the way they look then just get them how you want. I like mine wide kinda low and functional. Though I have 3 sets of wheels, eventually going to purchase a set of Diamond Steelies prob 16x11 not sure of the off set though.

78Z: L28et MS2, EDIS, Holset swap...
Kali replied to Challenger's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Did you get this beast running yet? What wiring diagram did you use for the EDIS? -
Also taking up Texus30O advice and looking into getting a turbo/exhaust upgrade. Another member on HZ has been selling off his L28ET 3.0 build and he has a HY35W with 3" exhaust. So I'm thinking about snatching that up.
