  1. I think the store can get it for you if you ask nicely. I got gloss black and regal red from lowes for $8 a can. They should be able to get you any of the colors on the rustoleum website.
  2. Ace Hardware has rattlecan camo colors. It has a pic of a hummer on the can. Chewie, I just use my digital camera and then downsize the pics.
  3. what would be fun is to do the olive green, lift the Z about 3 inches, rally tires, and a light rack on the roof...and a bull bar on the front...
  4. Yeah yeah...I have been seriously been thinking about the shark face idea...The first thing I thought when I saw this old black sportscar sitting in a driveway with toys all over it was "that car looks like a shark!" so I may be doing some teeth around the mouth of my Z but I still can't get over the camo idea...it is sort of a love-hate kind of thing. The relationship I have had with my car has been that...love-hate...but now that I am making the new wiring harness it will be much more love thanm hate then I will start playing with paint schemes. I want to get an old hood to cut up and make the big vents but still fit around all teh stck stuff. I will have a welder by my summer break next year so I will probably be angling the radiator and doing all of that fun modification stuff. Veritech, I think you should make a custom header that just dumps out the side of your car...that would be nice. Then you could have one of those electric exhaust cutouts feed into a regular exhaust with a hidden rear tip.
  5. I bet you feel like a chicken...all of this rotisserie...now you need a bonfire... J/K...
  6. arg...I odn't like the new post time! keeps me looking at the clock!
  7. Z-tard, Thank you! it took about half an hour to get those scoops done and that pic was about half way through sketching them. I have also added viper type fender louvers. The airdam I drew is similar to the converntional polyurethane ones but the vertical part scoops air to go through the radiator since the air won't be getting stuck in the engine bay. The ducting design I have there will not work with a distributor so that is another reason to go distributorless. what you need is a little yellow on the front of the hood. Maybe a 2in. wide strip of it. Or maybe on the front of the door going vertically. time to go to the store and get some olive drab for your Z...who would have thought of putting olive drab on a Z...lol
  8. you can't see the panel until you bring your head down to the level of the shift knob. I don't know why I still have that dash support there. I'll go remove it now...
  9. I just got everything except my radiator fan timer module mounted on the Z brain and got it mocked up and mounted. This system will be very trick. I may make one or two more if there is an interest. The Zbrain is high enough that it is hidden even under my revealing aluminium dash.
  10. Here is my new electrical system. I got tired of chasing electrical gremlins so here goes... I started by ripping the entire harness out and then the car sat for two weeks. Today I decided I wanted to start rewiring it. My Dad (an electrical engineer) and I started laying out the new electrical "brain" for the car. Everything is on one sheet of aluminium and wil be able to be removed in a matter of minutes. When I am done with it you will be able to have the dash and the heart of the electrical system out in 10 minutes. The dash will attach to four points so that is really quick to remove. In the first pic you can see the rough layout that the fuseblocks, relays, and junky OEM ignition. You can see the location of the wiring system and where it will mount in the second pic. The third shows the kind of leather that the dash will be covered in.
  11. so when can we anticipate an update on your racer Z boodlefoof? any progress so far?
  12. http://videos.streetfire.net/hottestvideos/2/8B431675-E32B-42B0-B99A-22F22E1B99BE.htm check it out!
  13. go to DroZ at www.vwbaja.net on their forums. He has setup many F.O.R.D. 2.3 turbos with megasquirt and he is in ranier, OR. Or contact the guys at www.blindchickenracing.com they are all buds with teh vwbaja guys... their cars are cool too...
  14. cool! another nomination to stickify!
  15. why tirerack? I go down to tire depot every other week and get "pre worn in slicks" (worn out economy tires) for $35 installed
  16. I know that the strut diameter is almost exactly 2 in. I think 2.07" is what I measured when I was doing coilovers
  17. plus there is the factor of the sheet metal part of the intake not heating up as fast of the sheet metal part and wanting to blow away the sheet metal. I have welded cast aluminium before...even when I cleaned the poo(aluminium oxide) off it was apain to weld and did not want to wet out. I had to move my puddle with the filler rod. I would suggest that if you are going to design a new plenum just make 6 seperate small flanges and have each runner welded to it.
  18. here is the version I did last night. looks pretty cool.
  19. veritech, I have some S30 louvers that I am not going to be using. give me an offer and I will get you the louvers that you need but they need to be painted...they are the metal ones with rounded corners instead of the triangle-type ones. There is a pic of them on page 1 of my worklog.
  20. yeah yeah...I am downloading the next version from my camera now...much much cleaner.
  21. Notice they cost like $17 and then there is $20 of shipping...it has to be JDM for that kewl equipment to co$t $oo much to $hip HeRe...lol more like CDM...
  22. bwahahaha...that would be fun...maybe there will be some more ricers to laugh at in the next two months...
  23. ok so we should ban you from hybridz for tomorrow so you will be really bored...lol I think you should do some of those perpendicular faded yellow stripes...it gives that industrial look... I don't really like the rising sun either...it won't flow well. maybe on the roof...
