  1. shouldn't this be in a drawing thread??
  2. it's a 280...260s don't have the cut up rear panel...that I know of...plus the front turn signals are 280 ones...
  3. the chrome is just an owners choice. I think the main thing that z needs is to fix the stance...or lack thereof. Everything else was high quality-even though not to my personal taste. If the rear was raised 1.5 inches or the front was lowered 2 inches then it would look just right.
  4. cool...another worklog... this should be interesting. just sand those intakes down and pull out the aluminium polish...
  5. http://www.markscustomkits.com/ waddaya think? ... lol comments?
  6. if its free sure...you could part it out and make a little money..probably not worth fixing...check out mull's thread...
  7. yes. the less metal you have (the holes) and more even smooth curves(strength) you have the lightest, fastest, most stiff car you will have. a little yota-ism... you need the metal to keep stiffness but a lot of it is wasted in just being a flat sheet. I like a project to make the ligtest, fastest car and it should not be down-talked.
  8. ok I saw that but I was just thinking about a little more reinforcement with the outer panel...
  9. here is a pic. I was thinking just sealing up this gap.
  10. John. I would highly suggest keeping on3go away from those rims especially if he is armed with a sawzall...he may not have good intentions...J/K...lol
  11. I had another idea. what if you made a brace that went from the rear of the strut tower to the rear quarter panel and C pillar to help stiffen things up? I think joining the quarter panel and strut tower would help significantly.
  12. what weave pattern are you using while welding?
  13. I'm 6' and I can't reach the firewall with teh seat all the way back. I can barely push the clutch all teh way down. I don't know if there would be room to do that type of pedals though.
  14. I have no clue what is wrong with this pic...but here is my trusty ol' tippmann 98. the radio is now mounted better...lol
  15. you do it like a jeep 4.0... you tighten from the center and go in a spiral pattern outwards. I am not sure about the torques but yo should be able to search and find that out.
  16. here is the official photo...I like the paint job and the exterior. It just sags too much in the back. the paint is excellent and everything is aligned.
  17. if you remove the door panel from your door you will notice the holes that let you see the window regulator mechanism. if Nissan had not put flares on the holes the panel would be very weak and useless. Since they put flares on the metal it became very strong. when you make a hole and put a flare on it then it gains lots of strength. If you don't flare it then the metal will be much worse off.
  18. that will look pretty cool. sorta like the American tanks...they have the louvers on the side with camo...
  19. I still think you should have started wetsanding with 400 grit...would have speeded things up a little bit...
  20. nice...now just put that big chicken up on the rotesserie and cook it...
  21. hmm...I'll figure out this ignition problem today. I decided to sleep on it last night and the other people in the cuul-de-sac don't want to hear me trying to crank the Z too much after midnight... my older in age neighbors moved out because they were getting older and they never liked people working on their car. go figure...got nicer neighbors...
  22. The owners of the second car in that video commented on how my Z sounded...he (scott moschetto) won the best of show at the ZdayZ show. Really cool guy. A bit much on the bling side for that Z though.
  23. actually punching holes and then flaring the inside edge makes the panel lighter and much stronger. You just have to make sure there is enough metal left so that it is still strong. That design for the rear frame looks light and strong.
