  1. unless you have a Z with 2 fuel pumps...a mechanical and an electric...it will still run if the electric pump is off. I drove mine with the fuel pump off and it was running really bad and I could not figure it out. When I got home I checked the fuel pump switch and it was off...lol
  2. It is just a little to hard to weld 6061 as I have heard. That is the only downside to using 6061. Good luck on your project!
  3. hmm...Probably time to stabilise it...I know nothing about the process and My Z sat for 8 months and had very little problems with the gas. you could tell it was not as good because the motor did not run great but once I ran that tank out and filled it up it ran fine. depends on what you want to do and if you want to play with it. I don't know if it does anything at all to help like fuel additives say they do but don't do much at all.
  4. why not make it all new? 3003-h14 aluminium is fairly easy to weld and is cheap. I would think you would want 1/8" at least which would be .125 inches. A 4'X8' sheet of .125 should be around $110-$130. I bought a sheet of .063 aluminium (1/16") with that same alloy to build my dash and it was $65
  5. sweet!what demensions do you need? control arm length?
  6. around me there is a flat black rb20det Z, a 350 chevy Z(my neghibor), a 327 Z (mike kz), therre is an orange Z that is slightly modded, a track prepped green Z with a turbo block but no turbo (2003z), a 240z that is flat black and has some good motor mods by the exhaust sound, and several more...
  7. cool. I may need to get a pair and wire up 6 headlights...that would be nice...
  8. are they actually bright on the road? I have seen ones like those for anywhere from $10 to $50...those look nicer though.
  9. aah...chunky peach...yummy. Try it on pork chops...that is really good.
  10. I just think that since you have like no backspace that you hit a good bump and put a lot of bending force on your stub axle. maybe time for some 15"x 14" wide rear rims... btw...I drive a Found On Road Dead explorer and it has the same problem...some airhead in a 93 accord smacked the right rear wheel and we replaced the wheel but it still wobbles so it is the axle that is bent.
  11. www.zcarparts.com AND SEARCH!
  12. here is the latest...freehand once again...J/K I traced over a photo of zlalomz car. The drivers side bucket is a little off. Drew it while watching the patriot last night...
  13. haha...yep that is what if fun about Zs. I have done that to every asian prelude owner in my county I think...and 240sx owners...Zs are sort of plentiful here as I have counted around 10 modified first gen Zs within 10 miles of where I live and a few of beaters.
  14. hmm...those are my band guys...that is what you make in spare time in welding class...
  15. the p!nks z should have looked like that red one...that would have been fun.
  16. willstar...it is an expansion tank that allows room for when your gas expands of fumes out...I guess. I am going to go with a fuel cell next summer so it will be eleminated. All you would need to do is run teh line from the top of the filler neck down to one of the large vents on the drivers side of the gas tank. I am not messing with any of it since it will all be pulled out and I don't want to have to deal with blocking it off. good luck!
  17. got to love the ZR8ED mod...I just need to get my parent's to buy too much lawn edging for the yard this summer...maybe...
  18. I sed one oem one and one of those little red fold up ones...just did not want the car to roll off the curb... I used the e-brake as well. I was going 75 down the highway and it started shaking...I thought I had a universal joint blow...
  19. here is a quick no audio vid of my Z near the tail of the dragon from the 944t Video Hosting - Upload Video - Video Sharing
  20. here is a pic from the trip up to zdayz...be sure your driveshaft is tight before a 150 mile trip...I did not tighten it to spec before I left...go figure. how do you get under a lowered car with no ramps and can't really use a oem jack safely in this situation...drive onto the curb and leave a good amount of rubber on it while people are giving weird looks from the cell phone store and from the gas pumps... finally cut the tag out so I can post this one. I am now sorting out what wiring kit to get. I am looking at the painless 12 wire kit for around $250...
  21. mike...keep it in the family..here you go and enjoy! http://videos.streetfire.net/search/datsun/1/FC262212-5F71-4E1F-A6E1-57C2E3229922.htm
  22. you don't want to set them on the top setting...it will be like having your suspension solid. You know you can use your current springs on a coilover setup is you are careful in removing the lower perches and don't cut away too much metal. with the illuminas don't pay more than $100 each after shipping. I got mine for $395 or so off of ebay from jdmwerks.
  23. well that was for a motor that was completely insane...you hopefully don't want to be that insane...lol I men I have seen how fast that car is and you don't want that...undriveable...lol. I don't know if they want to give out any hp numbers but it was way more than reasonable...but since you are building a L6 MONSTER..who knows...
  24. I was thiking about that but I have never seen a "Y" for a gas line. good idea and then crank up the flowmeter while purging.
