  1. I agree that it is cool but you could have done a one-off bodykit that flows much better for the same cost. Plus you have to find a 944 than you can pull straight panels off of for a decent amount of money (not easy).
  2. Dad's 944 turbo front end... motice on the below pic the distance from the top of the wheelwell to the fender crease and then look at the Z with the bodykit. The bodykit would have to be modified to have that small distance between the top of the wheelwell and the fender crease. It is quite possible though.
  3. How about uploading them all and then posting them all in one thread. Then we don't have to go in and look at individual files...
  4. I have up to the end of the #3 "book"... www.wangan-midnight.com has a couple of the first ones I have downloaded. Edit.. they just got volume 4 chapter 1 up on that site... SWEET!! And here is a tip to those new to wangan midnight...read them from the top right to the left... backwards of regular english...
  5. There are reasons almost ALL turbo guys are going EFI... You can spend your $$$$ and time elsewhere on the car to make it go faster..
  6. Both cars are sweet!! I lke the black one...because it is black:-) Do you have more pics of the primadonna Zs? Maybe you could post them here!!
  7. True point there Mikelly.. I just saw the radio/CB antenna and thought street car...
  8. ah... but with EFI if you hit a lean spot you make a few clicks and you have no more lean spot...even with a WBO2 it would take forever to get your SUs not to hit lean spots...if you had an easy way to work on SU needles then sure go ahead. It seems all hit-or-miss with trying to tune carbs for boost fuel addition. And if you wanted to up the boost you would need to change needles again. If it were me tuning the SUs on a turbo motor by the time I had them close to tuned I would have melted pistons...If you were getting close but went too far on a needle you would have to start over... Veritech's idea of putting the injectors pointng down the throat would work great. An injector under each intake runner would be even better for a high performance engine that you could tune. If you want to do something different and unique why not do a SINGLE 4 barrel carb and turbo it? V8 guys have been pushing and pulling air through them with forced induction for years!!! Just hardly ever on an L6 though.
  9. 280zdex: you have the coolest supercharged 280zx with an L6 motor I have seen!! It looks an OE supercharged L6 from your open hood shot!! Very clean!!!
  10. something is wrong with that car...the bumper is nowhere near straight...and the headlight buckets look off too...what's up with that?!
  11. too..much...christmas...and...fixing...old...junky...problematic...porsches...ARG!!! haven't...touched...Z...
  12. Max/Veritech:...you never know...I MAY have a source for a cheap-ish SBC...and a single turbo on a stout bottom end IS sounding delicious. I just know squat about V8s. Zguy3287632784623846203: have you tried "gears of war" yet? That game is really cool!!and really good on a HDTV and suruond!!! chainsaw guns baby!!! and that is a SWEET camera DUDE!!! Yesterday I got a nice bucket tool holder thing, a couple CDs, and some stuff for college...I may be getting something from other family today... Armand: REALLY COOL 240Z there!!! what are your plans? You should turbo it since it has the L28...
  13. AHH!!! what a great STEAL!!!! Stroker 3.1liter L28 with a nice body shell for less than 1/4 of what the car is worth!!!! Enjoy your Z and welcome to HybridZ!
  14. open minded means accepting the good and bad... draw through is definitely not what you want. If youdecide to do the blowthrough SUs the more power to ya' buddy. It just seems that with the highy accurate programability of EFI can adjust for any boost and KNOW you aren't going to hit a lean spot at full boost and instantly detonate your motor.
  15. Lunar: that COULD work..and I have seriously considered it... but TPI is more accurate than TBI...plus with a good aftermarket EFI and TPI you can individually tune each cylinder to what it needs. Tony_D: I am going to be building mine for a turboed motor...for the fact that that SUs won't work very well(for a turbo) and will have people scratching their heads. What is the stock ID of an SU body? I think I measured mine at about 43mm but that was a while back. THANKS for the info about the TPS!! that would work wonderfully! So would I use the stock butterfly valves in the SUs? that seems like it should work. I'll get my SU parts out and put my carbies back together to figure out how to set this up.. Thanks Tony and merry Christmas everybody!!
  16. yep! sure do!!! There is a BUNCH of fried chicken here in GA...it all depends on finding the right person to make it!! My grandfather (passed away a few years ago at 93!) had the best recipie for fried chicken! I soo want to find where he put it!!!
  17. I got the books: "Rebuilding the small block chevy with a 2 hour DVD" and "chassis engineering" the CD: "Your Man" by Josh turner(yeah I'm a country fan...) and the movie: "Pirates of the Caribbean: dead man's chest" from my brother! plus my 2004 Frontier crew cab I got a few weeks ago... What did y'all get!!!
  18. I have seen a first-gen Z with 325 width tires...it used to have some huge chevy motor...BBC I think. You can get enough tire as long as you have 17"-18" rims. FI junky: how much do you have to spend on your drivetrain? if you want to make a 600hp L6 plan on spending $7xxx on the base motor easy...then extras for stuff you need for the motor...fuel cell, new fuel lines etc... and if you do all that laying the motor over would be a decent idea to lower your CG and give you more room for turbo stuff...while you are at it... You would probably rip the motor mounts apart the first time you drop teh clutch...lol. Motor plates are in order! A Z32 tranny would probably work since stage 9 Z32s are around like 1000 horsepower... Here is my dream "fully built" L series motor that would be up there in power...besides my signature... LD28 block Laid WAY over 85mm modified, lightened, LD28 crank 89-90mm bore balanced, lightened, polished everything... forged pistons (duh!) 1_fast_Z's DOHC crossflow head sequential turbos (first small turbo runs out of gas and then switches to a bigger turbo like a supra.) aftermarket EFI (wolf 3D...) driveline: Dana 44 IRS w/ inboard brakes Z32 tranny so...how fast are you willing to spend? That above is well over $15k of stuff...lol and good for 650+ ponies...
  19. As in hot I was thinking BRE hot...My lightly modded L26 beat a N/A F150 5.4... the lightning 5.4 is a bit quicker though... A decent L28et powered S30Z should be able to keep up pretty well with a lightning. Maybe I'll race my buddy one day...Should be fun
  20. sweetness!!! so what will be happening with your L28? And will you be ready for ZdayZ?
  21. I agree... You can get megasquirt and a WBO2 sensor for a decent $600 and get the car making WAY more power in less time... I plan on using stripped out SUs just for giggles with injectors underneath each of the intake runners...all the EFI stuff will be under heat shielding and hidden...
  22. in person..yeah... we don't have many really fast cars around here...mostly ricers here... he says he is around the 460hp mark now with the smaller SC pully ...lightnings made about 400 stock. Big-phil...450ish ponies in a ~4000 lb truck is about as fast as a hot N/A Z...I would have him at the first turn even though it has hochkins suspension stuff...I have coilovers
  23. several people here have done the interior and other parts with rustoleum...and have done so for quite a while. It's just this last year that people started painting the exterior with rustoleum...
  24. Just a little over the top??HAHA!!!
