They actually make it in a low enough offset to fit older Z's?

I agree with these guys, keep it simple while you're still in school. If you are dead set on a Nissan V8 swap, the VH45 would be your best bet. There is more info and finished swaps into older Z's that you can use as a guidline. Plus it's cheaper. If you look hard enough you can find running Q45's for $500, but the VK56 itself runs around $1200+ on average.

Ever thought about emailing Chris Forsberg, or Drift Emporium? You could ask what they used for their setups.

The only reasons I'm going to use the S13 peices is because I've already bought several pieces, have a complete rear subframe waiting for me, and S13's are more plentiful than S14's here. Otherwise, I've been playing with the idea of a Z33 rear subframe.

It was strength and reliability. One detail I've seen people harp on is the switch to a hydraulic throw out bearing, and I forget the rest. I forgot to mention earlier that Mckinney Motorsports will be working on a VK swap kit for older Z's, but they won't start until they're done with the kit for 350Z's.

I know, you did a full S14 suspension swap, right? I intend to do the same, but using S13 pieces.

Tein does have a custom order program they started a few years ago, tell the what you want and they'll build it.

They have a number, might be able to call them up and strike a deal. I'd say it's worth a call. I'll say this too, the last time I checked on the adapter plates, they were wanting around $800-900 a pop.

I look all over the place, but tend more towards forums and eBay. Right now the only one I can find is on ebay, but they want $1500 for it. If I can find anything closer to you, I'll let you know.

Alright, people like what they like. Leave it at that please, as this arguement has already been done. On topic, I like what you've done with the subframe. This is what I would've been looking into before I decided to swap the subframe out. Maybe on the next one.

I've seen some go for around $900, but I haven't looked lately. NeoGarage will sometimes sell combos.

Drift Emporium makes an adapter for the Z33 trans, and another guy (whose name escapes me at the moment) makes one to use the Z34 trans. Search NeoGarage on google and that should take you to his site. I hope you get this going, since I intend to do the exact same thing with my 280ZX.

I'm posting this for a friend of mine. He's looking to get back into imports, and wants to do so with a Z. After seeing my S130 he has decided he wants to build one. Any year will suffice, but it must be a coupe with a clean title. Doesn't need to be running, but the frame must be useable or not too far gone where it's not worth saving. Willing to travel depending on condition. Send me a pm and I'll pass on the info to him. For reference we are just a little north of Cincinnati, Oh.
