  1. Well, it's a bit of a long story, but I didn't give a speech at all. Somebody decided that I wasn't going to be a best man, but forgot to tell me. Don't want to to get into it, still kind of hurts. On the bright side of things, One Lap of America was going on and there was some serious machines up in Kohler, WI. Saw a dark green colored Ultima GTR pulling a trailer that was skinny and about twice as high as the car, which was kind of goofy lookin'. Many 'Vettes and Porsche's. What was really cool seeing was not one, not two but SIX brand new BMW M6's! Most of the license plates were from New Jersey. Parked next to those was a Porsche GT3 and a 911 turbo. Some of the Suburu STi's were pretty cool to see all decked out. So many cool machines running around. I actually wanted to see the V-8 powered 280Z that was entered in the One Lap of America (see here ), but on my way to Road America, he passed me going the opposite direction. But as he passed me, I leaned way out the window with my thumbs up. I'm pretty sure he saw me. I thought this was funny. I had my directions laying on top of my 'going out of town bag' and while I was in the crapper, my sister took it upon herself to give me her own directions.
  2. The spring rate is determined by compressing the spring one inch and seeing how many pounds it takes to do that.
  3. Miki, I missed out. I was late and ended up seeing the 280Z pass by me while in route to the track (I was only 15 minutes away). I'm pretty sure they saw me, I had half my body hanging out the window with my thumbs up. That car sounds MEAN!
  4. Just as a side note to this (I've done headlight covers a few times), I found it much easier to simply remove the headlight buckets, attach the brackets to the covers, and lay the cover onto the bucket. Then mark the holes from the inside. Makes for a tighter fitting cover.
  5. Frank, you don't like the patches? You can send them back for a full refund if you like. Mike, I have 2 big Hybrid Z patches left. If there is enough interest, I will buy a bunch of them to sell to you guys. I'll PM you regarding the ones I have. Justin, That shirt looks awsome! Good idea
  6. Did you make sure that the strut insert is snug inside the strut tube? I had that problem when the washers I used on the bottom of the insert became concave and the strut insert was moving up and down inside the assembly making a lot of noise. Took off the gland nut, pulled the insert out, dropped another washer down into the strut tube and tightened the gland nut. No more noise.
  7. Miki, I'm leaving in two hours. I'll try to find you in the Honda Element.
  8. Scott (ZR8ED) made a belly pan a long time ago (similar to Austin's) and has had no issues with it. He posted pictures here a few years ago.
  9. They made 547 Buick GNX's. They made a bunch of GN/T-types though.
  10. Easy, make some arms out of exaust tubing and install them on a weeble wobble.
  11. Being an airplane guy, this stuff is always fun to watch. The guy passes out 3 times. Blue Angels
  12. That's just as bad as this guy. Only has 60 miles on it, but he installed a "JBL Sound System W/CD".
  13. Thanks guys! I really appreciate the advice. I have butterfly's allready. I don't want to do this, but I must. I'll let you all know what happens. John, I won't get loopy before the speech. I tend to get a little bit animated when I've had a few, so that wouldn't be a good thing while talking to a couple hundred people. Thanks again!
  14. Sheesh, I grew up with the guy (25 years). It will be hard to tell just one story. So, that's all you do, is just tell everybody a good story about him? An emabarsing one or funny one? Oh, the scotch does sound good, but I made a promise to myself to only have two drinks untill I did give a speech, but after that, it's what will be known as time travel the next morning.
  15. A good buddy of mine who I've been friends with since I was five (known him for 25 years) is getting married this Saturday. I think there is a speech involved for me, but he couldn't decide on who will be the best man, so there are two of us. Do I still give a speech? If so, what the heck do I talk about? Man, I hope I don't have to give a speech, I hate being in front of A LOT of people, I tend to blank out (but I love gatherings, isn't that ironic?).
  16. I have a rehersal dinner (a good buddy of mine is getting hitched) near Road America on Friday. This would be so cool to see and take a few pictures. Hmmm, just checked the weather "Friday: Chance of showers. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the low 40s.". Do they race in the rain?
  17. You'll probably see my post on the LS1 fuel tank filler in stock location. My pictures got wiped out, so I'll upload them again into the post in the next couple of days.
  18. My new woman likes candles. I may order some (do Hybrid Z memebers recieve a discount ). I would like to offer some constructive critisism. I believe she has some spelling errors and the site feels a bit plain and the font in a few parts is a bit distorted for some reason. Change it up and the website will have a more inviting and pleasant feel to it. I would really like to see her succeed.

  20. I have the same model pictured above and it has already paid for itself at least 4 fold.
  21. I have about a dozen left. I'll send another out to you. $7.90 total if paying by Paypal.
  22. Like Mike, I feel Norm is a pretty cool guy. I looked up to that guy ever since I was on zcar.com six years ago. I talked with him a bit after he got the boot, but didn't know he was on thin ice for so long. I guess that's the reason why he said he was never coming back. I wish he would have played by the rules.
  23. Okay, one more picture I ended up not buying the crack free dash, so the original dash goes back in. The next picture will be of the dash installed and all the gauges on, I promise.
  24. Finished the small gauges today. Was just as simple as I thought. Just slight modifications were necessary, nothing major. Dan, I say go for it if you were looking at digital gauges. Even with the metal pod screwed back on, there are plenty of holes to run your wiring. The pictures below are self-explanatory. I'm picking up a semi-crack free dash today and will install everything into that dash instead. So after that, I need to find a heater core before I install the dash, so it may be a while before I update this with the dash installed and the gauges on. Should look pretty good, I can't wait!
